- Kings Pool Camp, Linyanti
Kings Pool Camp, Linyanti
This luxurious camp is situated in a private reserve in the Linyanti and Savuti Channel area of northern Botswana, on the western boundary of Chobe National Park.
Kings Pool Camp
The camp overlooks the Kings Pool Lagoon and the Linyanti River – and its rustic exterior belies the luxury within. The nine spacious tented and thatched suites – built on teak decks and connected by raised walkways – overlook the lagoon. Each has a separate living area, a large bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower and a private plunge pool and sala. The romantic Honeymoon Suite has a kingsize bed – and ball and claw bath. There is also a swimming pool at the main lodge.
In addition to game drives and walking safaris, Kings Pool offers boat cruises along the river (water levels permitting) – and there are also two hides (one sunken and one raised) where you can gain fascinating close-ups of the animals (an experience which often transcends that of an ordinary safari). Each evening, return to the open-air boma for dinner around the camp fire.
The area is most noted for its very large elephant population which can reach enormous densities during the dry winter months (May to October) when the elephants are forced to congregate along the waterways. Other abundant game includes zebra, giraffe, waterbuck, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena. You can also enjoy great hippo and game viewing on the lagoon in front of the camp. The reed and papyrus swamps attract a myriad of birds.
