Nimmo Bay Resort, Canada

In the shadow of Mount Stephens on the shores of Mackenzie sound, in the magnificent Great Bear Rainforest, hides Nimmo Bay Resort. A family-owned labour of love and unfailing dedication to the natural environment, this luxury lodge is only accessible by float plane or helicopter.  By land, water and sky, experience true escapism, dance to the rhythm of nature and walk amongst the wildlife to whom this land belongs.

Nimmo Bay Resort

Sleep

Nine two-bedroom cottages offer cosy cabin style abodes, overlooking the water or hidden in the forest. Simple, yet stylish, interiors are charmingly Canadian whilst ticking every creature comfort box. Complimentary mini-bars offer local wine, beer and soft drinks, whilst bathrooms are fully equipped with organic amenities. A plastic-free paradise, guests are given steel water bottles to use and take home as a keepsake of their wilderness escape.

Eat

The dining experience at Nimmo Bay is quite extraordinary considering its remote location. A menu of land and sea, fuelled entirely by local BC produce and caught-that-day fish and seafood, varies from hearty breakfasts and picnic lunches to gourmet tasting-menu style dinners. Homemade breads, pastries and baked treats also await guests daily, ensuring energy levels are kept sky high for the adventures which lie ahead. Local spirits, beer and wine are included, although there is also an impressive selection of premium spirits and cocktails on offer, too. For lodge manager and owner Fraser, delivering the highest quality food and hospitality is paramount to the Nimmo Bay experience.

Play & Pamper

With 50,000 square miles of untouched wilderness to explore, guests can choose from a plethora of land, water and sky-based activities. Heli-fishing, heli-biking and heli-hiking are three of the most popular, whilst bear viewing by kayak, boat or land is the main draw for most. From the lodge, guests are encouraged to swim out to the floating sauna and sun deck, later warming chilly toes in one of the cedarwood hot tubs. With mother nature in her element, wellness is a natural by-product of visiting Nimmo Bay, but for those looking for a total detox and spot of pampering, the glass walled forest spa room and on-demand yoga awaits.
