Since the life of the local people in the Delta is almost entirely river-based, one of the best ways to explore the region and to experience the lifestyle of its inhabitants is by boat. There are three beautiful wooden Bassac boats, one with 6 cabins and the other two with 12 cabins each. Accommodation is cosy but comfortable with dark wooden décor and simple furnishings. All cabins feature air-conditioning and have private en suite bathrooms with a 'wet-room' style shower.

Located on the banks of the Hau River (a tributary of the mighty Mekong River), the Victoria Can Tho is at the heart of the Mekong Delta. Although a newly built hotel, it has been constructed in the style of an elegant colonial mansion. The c-shaped resort has a pool at its centre, which overlooks the river itself. The river is, of course, a hub of activity for the local people.

The Victoria Chau Doc hotel is another riverside property from the Victoria group. Located on the banks of the Bassac River, the hotel is near the Cambodian border and is an excellent overnight stop for those making the iconic journey from Saigon to Phnom Penh or vice versa.
