Topas Ecolodge, Vietnam
Located deep in the spectacular Sapa Valley, about 45 minutes from Sapa town, this rural eco lodge commands breath-taking views of the surrounding valleys covered with terraced rice fields, and is the perfect place to base yourself and explore this beautiful region of Northern Vietnam. Spend your days trekking or cycling in the mountains of Sapa, a great way to get closer to the culture and experience the daily life of the hilltribes. Visit local markets in the nearby ethnic villages of Ban Ho and Thanh Phu and at the end of your day indulge in the lodge’s new spa – a traditional Red Dao herbal bath and foot therapy sounds just the ticket after a day trekking!
Topas Ecolodge
This simple, but comfortable lodge consists of 25 individual rustic chalet-style bungalows placed in a circle around the two cone-shaped hills on which it is located. The only ecolodge of its kind in Vietnam, the property is proud to only employ local people and only use local goods and products in order to bring economic benefits to the local community.
The restaurant is an old traditional Thai stilt house which was carefully moved piece by piece from its original site and reassembled at the lodge -and the superb cuisine is traditionally Vietnamese, served by the locals from the surrounding villages.
