Nigel Archer Safaris Seasonal Migration and Big Cats Camp, Kenya
Nigel Archer, Managing Director of the highly-regarded Naibor Camps in the Masai Mara, has launched a new luxury seasonal camp, wonderfully situated to offer the best game viewing possible, depending on your season of travel. From 20 January to 10 March 2020, the camp will operate for the first time as Nigel Archer Safaris Seasonal Big Cats Camp, superbly located in the heart of Big Cat territory in a prime setting within the Masai Mara National Reserve. From July to September, the camp begins its second season as Nigel Archer Safaris Seasonal Migration Camp, when it is perfectly positioned to follow the movement of the one million herding wildebeest and thousands of zebras and gazelles as they pound the African plains in search of fresh grasslands. Few spectacles can compete with Africa's great migration - one of the world's most sought after travel experiences. Nigel is a third generation Kenyan, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the African bush. You will be guided by Nigel or one of his small team of guides, all of whom possess an exceptional knowledge of Africa, its culture and its wildlife.
No safari is complete without time spent under canvas in the style of the old explorers and this camp is no exception. It consists of eight 'Out of Africa' style authentic tents, all designed from decades of safari experience. A full crew of exceptional safari staff will cater for your every need, whether it is preparing a beautifully laid dinner under the stars or a piping hot shower, ready for you to freshen up and 'dust down' on return from your afternoon’s wildlife adventures!
As a guest in camp, you can be assured of an exceptional position within the Masai Mara National Reserve, depending on when you are travelling. Kenya's world famous Masai Mara plays host to some of the most spectacular wildlife viewing in Africa. February is calving season and you can expect to see lots of baby animals being born whilst during the migration season, the Mara River provides the herding wildebeest with their most serious obstacle. The scenes which play out in close proximity to the camp's movable setting promise to be incredibly dramatic and thrilling! What's more, you will enjoy exceptional safari comfort in the camp's authentic luxury tents, complemented by delicious food and impeccable service. Adrenaline seekers can opt to float over the wildebeest migration in a hot air balloon or embark on a wildlife adventure on foot to get even closer to nature and then unwind at the end of a memorable day with a massage under the canopy of the African sky. Only in Kenya!
