Luxury, Romance & A Touch of Adventure

With hidden white sand beaches, turquoise inlets and truly boutique accommodation, New Zealand offers so much more than its thrill-seeker reputation gives it credit for. While you won’t be able to see the whole country in two weeks, domestic flights in New Zealand are as easy and frequent as catching a bus and will really help you get the most out of your time there. A two week holiday is long enough to combine an exciting mix of adventure, gourmet delights and stunning beaches in New Zealand as well as giving you time to relax and breathe in the Kiwi way of life... after all, New Zealanders are pretty much just like us but do a great job of showing how laid-back life could be if we didn’t sweat the small stuff quite as much and got outdoors more!

  • New Zealand - The Boatshed Exterior

Days 1-3 The Boatshed, Waiheke Island

Let your first experience of New Zealand be of the thing Kiwis love the most – the ocean. Take the 40 minute ferry ride out of Auckland Harbour and let the excitement build as the bohemian island of Waiheke comes slowly in to view. A great place to rest and rejuvenate after your long flight, Waiheke has a romantic and uplifting feel while still being close enough to Auckland to let you visit for the city for the day if you wish. Spend 3 exquisite nights on Waiheke staying at The Boatshed where you can wander down to the beach, quirky cafes and eclectic shops of Oneroa in just a few minutes.

Stay: 3 nights at The Boatshed in a Boatshed Room

  • New Zealand - Clifftops Retreat - Hot Tub

Days 4-6 Clifftops Retreat, Nelson & Abel National Park

Travel back to Auckland and take a short domestic flight down to Nelson – the sunniest town in New Zealand and the gateway to the stunning Abel Tasman National Park. Settle into the secluded self-contained villa at Clifftops Retreat and enjoy a glass of champagne while admiring your panoramic view of the ocean. Enjoy doing as little or as much as you like but we’d definitely recommend a tramp through the rainforest of the nearby national park, hiring a kayak for a leisurely paddle followed by lunch in a secluded turquoise cove or taking a short drive to Nelson itself and exploring the many art galleries and cafes.

Stay: 3 nights at Clifftops Retreat

  • New Zealand - Azur Lodge Exterior

    Days 7-9 Azur Lodge, Queenstown

A short flight away is the South Island's action centre – Queenstown. As much fun in the summer as in the winter, Queenstown is a must for its epic mountain vistas – the scene of many a Hollywood movie – and of course adventurous pursuits a plenty. But to begin with, check-in to Azur Lodge, throw open the large picture windows in your bathroom and take a soothing dip in the spa bath while enjoying a glass of perfectly chilled champagne. If you ever feel ready to leave your sanctuary, your options include an exhilarating jet-boat trip through the winding rivers, a 4x4 wheel safari across awe-inspring terrain, breathtaking hiking, exhilarating mountain biking, sensational helicopter trips and an epic picnic on a glacier to name but a few!

Stay: 3 nights at Azur Lodge

  • Days 10-11 Tin Tub, Wanaka

Less than an hour's drive from Queenstown, Wanaka provides a little respite from the buzz of Queenstown. Set on the banks of Lake Wanaka, the township is just a 5 minute drive from your home for the next 2 nights, Tin Tub, a tranquil boutique hideaway named after the delightful tin baths discreetly positioned outside each Lodge Room - the perfect spot for a soak under the stars! With spectacular views of the surrounding farmland and Southern Alps mountain range, this charming five room retreat is the perfect relaxing base from which to explore this beautiful corner of New Zealand. From Tin Tub, it's easy to explore the Wanaka region and all the wonderful activites on offer... from golf, hiking and fishing to skiing, skydiving and scenic flights. The small township of Wanaka has some great cafes, restaurants, boutique shops and art galleries.

Stay: 2 nights at Tin Tub in a Lodge Room

  • New Zealand - Eagles Nest Russell - First Light Temple Villa

Days 12-14 Eagles Nest, Bay of Islands

Drive back to Queenstown and wing your way back up north to the beautiful Bay of Islands. After landing in Kerikeri, collect your hire car and take the scenic drive and car ferry to the architecturally unique and contemporary Eagles Nest Retreat. Nestled on a private peninsula just minutes from Russell in the Bay of Islands, this secluded retreat comprises five truly stylish self-contained villas, each boasting spacious and contemporary accommodation with eclectic and casually elegant interiors. Set in extensive tropical gardens surrounded by native bush, this 75 acre estate enjoys spectacular views overlooking Tapeka Point and the Bay of Islands with each villa offering privacy and an opportunity to unwind and relax. ‘First Light Temple Villa’ is the ultimate romantic hideaway for two – a stylish split-level one bedroom villa with floor-to-ceiling glass doors which slide back to allow the outdoors in. Each villa benefits from a well-equipped gourmet kitchen, but if cooking is not ‘your thing’, your hosts can arrange for a private chef to cater for you. Activities on land, sea and air abound in this part of New Zealand... swimming with dolphins is a must, as is a scenic flight to the country's northern tip, Cape Reinga.

Stay: 3 nights at Eagles Nest in a First Light Villa
