Tahiti
Rangiroa
Located in the Tuamotus, Rangiroa (meaning 'huge sky') gets its name from its great length, measuring 75kms from east to west and 25kms from north to south. It is the largest atoll in French Polynesia and second largest in the world - this immense turquoise lagoon is dotted with 240 tiny islets (motus), each no more than three feet in elevation. It is therefore little wonder that Rangiroa is one of the most renowned dive destinations in the world. It is also the perfect place to play Robinson Crusoe on a desert island or join a cruise.
