- The Musandam Peninsula
The Musandam Peninsula
The Musandam Peninsula, which juts out into the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf, is an exclave of Oman, separated from the rest of the country by the United Arab Emirates. Rather than flying to Muscat as you would to access other regions within Oman, the Musandam Peninsula is geographically much closer to Dubai - just two hours away by car. Rest your head at Six Senses Zighy Bay, hidden away amidst the mountains which flank the south eastern coastline. From this all pool-villa sanctuary, you can truly escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Spend long lazy days by the pool, visit the award-winning spa, or venture out by boat to spot dolphins and visit old forts, local villages and remote coves. Adventure junkies will love the endless activities on offer – from paragliding to mountain climbing, biking and hiking. We highly recommend combining a visit to the Musandam Peninsula with a few nights in Dubai, or as a stop-over en route to the Indian Ocean, Asia and beyond.
