Nikki Beach Resort & Spa, Dubai
Looking out from Nikki Beach's palm-pocked sands across the shimmering waters of the Persian Gulf, you could, even just for a second, imagine you were just about anywhere blessed with a beautiful beach. Turn the other way and the view is unmistakably Dubai, its cloud-baiting skyscrapers dazzling in the sunshine. But beach club escapism is what Nikki Beach does so well, even more so when it's the only resort on the exclusive Pearl Jumeirah island with a 450m-long private beach. Its convenient location belies its faraway feel, too, with Dubai Creek, the Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai all a 15-minute taxi hop away.
Nikki Beach isn't just your regular beach club resort. Here, it is very much hip and happening, oozing with style and luxury that have become signatures with the Nikki Beach's collection of five resorts around the world. The clean lines, sleek appearance and whitewashed interiors fit very well within Dubai's modern compass. A splash of American swagger and Miami panache also runs through the resort, a nod to Florida being the location Nikki Beach founder Jack Penrod's inaugural endeavour. Blended together, a stay at Nikki Beach is like having a ticket to the coolest club in town.
Nikki Beach Resort & Spa
Just like the rest of the resort, the rooms are contemporary in design. They draw inspiration from the surrounding sea, sand and sky, with light tones and pastel colours creating a relaxing atmosphere, while the white floor-to-ceiling drapes which edge the balconies or terraces ripple like the waves lapping the beach. Each room comes with an oversized bathroom, complete with freestanding tub, and a comprehensive entertainment system and customisable mini bar both add to the resort's party vibes.Fancy upgrading to a villa? If you do, you'll get your own private pool, too.
When it comes to dining, Nikki Beach deliciously delivers. Café Nikki is an all-day urban bistro which serves up food reflecting its international ambience, its menu influenced by Nikki Beach's sister properties around the world. The highlight is its Saint Tropez brunches every Friday, a Dubai institution with a touch of the French Riviera. If you can't bear to leave your sun bed, the Beach Club serves up a poolside selection of snacks and larger dishes. Key West is a taste of the Caribbean with staples like ceviche, spicy tacos and fish chow, while the Soul Lounge is the place to be for a world-class cocktail at any time of day, whether it's sipped to chill-out tunes in the afternoon or accompanying buoyant after-dark DJ sets.
As you’d expect in Dubai, Nikki Beach is flush with facilities. There's an ace tennis court to enjoy, as well as a superb range of non-motorised water sports. Despite its cocoon-like setting, Nikki Beach's fabulous location shouldn't be ignored and we'd highly recommend exploring Dubai's attractions that lie nearby, like the Burj Khalifa, Dubai Creek, Downtown Dubai and Dubai Mall.
The Nikki Beach experience is all about having your pulse slowed, whether it's chilling by one of its pools or gazing out at the Persian Gulf. The resort's Nikki Spa is the ultimate sanctuary – there's nothing here they haven't thought of. There's a sauna, steam room, ice fountain, indoor and outdoor relaxation lounges and a hammam. The menu of rituals and massages is gloriously vast and the mellow 80s and 90s playlists which accompany the treatments is a nice nod to the beach club location.
