Katikies Villas, Mykonos

The private villas at Katikies Villas come with either one, two or three bedrooms and all combine traditional Greek drystone walls with the whitewashed look Mykonos and the rest of the Cyclades are known for. Each villa is huge in size, both indoors and outdoors, with king-size beds in every room generously sized private pools on the terraces, too. The terraces are a fantastic place to have breakfast in the morning, looking out over the Aegean Sea.

Inside, the white interiors are perfectly complemented by the slate-grey furnishings, dark woods and admiral-blue accents, while the two and three-bedroom villas also come with the bonus of having outdoor showers. Each villa also has a fully fitted kitchenette, just in case you want to whip up your own meals. For everything else, you can call concierge on the 'wish phone' you're handed on arrival and they'll be happy to bring any of your meals and set them up discreetly in the privacy of your villa.

You won't go hungry during your time in your private villa. Katikies Villas offers 24-hour in-villa dining and you can choose from an impressive selection of Greek and Mediterranean dishes.

If you fancy a night out of your villa, you can also book a table at one of the restaurants at sister hotel Katikies Mykonos, just a 25-minute drive away (the hotel does offer complimentary shuttle transfers between the two). Mikrasia offers a tasty menu of Byzantine and Anatolian dishes in a wonderfully intimate setting beside one of its infinity pools. If you enjoy expertly paired wines and Champagnes with your meal, the Seltz Champagne Bar & Restaurant specialises in a fine range of seafood.

The beauty of Katikies Villas is that you have your own space and can do everything at your own leisure. The villas sit right on the edge of Elia Beach, the longest beach in Mykonos and its golden sands are well worth a stroll, especially early in the morning before the sun-seekers arrive or at sunset.

Hora's maze of whitewashed lanes is only a 25-minute drive away and the bougainvillea-draped shops, chapels and shrines are well worth a trip for the day. Its Little Venice neighbourhood, characterised by its Italianate buildings, is a particular highlight.

There isn't a spa at Katikies Villas but any guests staying there can book treatments at the spa at sister hotel Katikies Mykonos. Its A.SPA uses Lignes St. Barth products in a tranquil whitewashed setting, with a menu of full-body therapies, facials and massages available to choose from.
