Niva Labriz Seychelles
Offering a location, which is about as sublime as it gets, Niva Labriz Seychelles sits jewel-like on the unspoilt Silhouette Island, a place famed for ‘Jurassic Park’ inspired jungle-clad mountains soaring skywards and the distinctive image, so iconic to the Seychelles, of huge granite boulders dotting the pristine white sands. Although the third largest island in the Seychelles, Niva Labriz takes pride of place as the only resort here.

Loved for years by hardy travellers, this wild and beautiful spot is a haven for walkers and hikers – there are no set paths and only two tracks connecting the north and south. Nature lovers will rejoice in paradise found with a colourful abundance of indigenous flora and fauna including the incense tree, orchids, sheef tailed bats and 125 year-old giant tortoises. Once home to pirates and plantations, the island is only accessible by helicopter or boat and remains sheathed in an aura of mystique.
Leisure on the island is as varied or as gentle as you wish it to be. Days may unfold with guided nature walks and hikes through the island’s lush interior, revealing hidden viewpoints and endemic wildlife, or with time spent on the water, from non-motorised watersports to sunset cruises along the coast. Offshore fishing and coastal trolling offer a more adventurous rhythm, while Creole cooking classes provide a cultural counterpoint, inviting guests to connect with local flavours and traditions.
For those who prefer to stay active, facilities include tennis and padel courts, yoga and beach yoga sessions, mini golf, and a well-equipped games room. Cultural discovery is woven throughout the experience, with visits to the Grann Kaz Heritage House Museum offering insight into the island’s history, while quieter moments can be spent simply absorbing the natural beauty that surrounds you at every turn.
This lovely resort has just over 100 villas with choices including Garden Villas, Garden Oasis Pool Villas, Beachfront Villas, Sanctuary Pool Villas and Deluxe Beachfront Pool Villas. All have a sleek, contemporary feel and lovely views of the lush gardens or the beach, while generous living areas flow out to connect with a terrace or a private garden complete with a pool. We love the Garden Oasis Pool Villas, which combine the tropical surrounds with being just 25m from powder-soft sands, and the Sanctuary Pool Villas, which overlook immovable mountains and are completely private – the sound of birdsong is just mesmerising.
Dining is superb and covers a spectrum ranging from local Creoleto sushi and modern international. For an atmospheric special occasion, head to Grann Kaz; a restored Seychellois plantation house, once home to the Dauban family, the former owners of the island.
Set deep in the heart of the jungle, the spa unfolds as a secluded sanctuary dedicated to quiet restoration. A series of private treatment rooms are thoughtfully positioned to maximise privacy and immersion in nature, complemented by an outdoor freshwater plunge pool, steam and sauna rooms, and an open-air whirlpool surrounded by rainforest. Wellness extends beyond the treatment suites, with yoga sessions offered both within the spa and on the beach, allowing guests to move, breathe, and reconnect in harmony with the island’s natural rhythms.
