- Little Good Harbour, Barbados
Little Good Harbour, Barbados
A chic and charming boutique hotel, Little Good Harbour is situated in a quiet location on the north-west coast of Barbados. This haven of tranquillity conjures up images of the old Barbados. Sitting on the beachfront of the property, the original 17th century coral stone Fort Rupert is carefully and tastefully restored to feature unique architecture and charm.
Little Good Harbour - highlights
Caribbean art, Balinese furnishings and the local landscape are reflected throughout the décor of Little Good Harbour’s 21 suites (two Fort Suites are located right on the beachfront and the rest of the suites are beautifully located within the well-kept gardens across a minor road). Traditional fishing boats moored on the coastline add to the tranquillity of this delightful family-run boutique hotel.
All suites feature cable TVs, modern kitchens – and all bedrooms have air-conditioning. Lovely French windows open to a terrace or balcony and offer fantastic views of the gardens. All One Bedroom Suites feature charming living space and are ideal for couples. The suites are on two levels with the living room and kitchen downstairs and the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. There are also Two Bedroom Suites, which are ideal for families, and six new luxurious Three Bedroom Vineyard Suites set on the upper level of the property and quirkily named Frog Choir, Driftwood, Moondance, Leeuwin, Voyager and Leaping Lizzard after wines from the Margaret River region of Western Australia.
We highly recommend the two or three bedroom Fort Suites which are located on the beachfront and only a few steps away from the ocean. The décor is relaxed and informal – and both suites boast magnificent sun decks with sun loungers and a large dining table.
Little Good Harbour’s water edge restaurant, The Fish Pot (a popular spot for locals and guests from other hotels too – so reservations are essential!), is located right next to the Fort Suites. The friendly staff are more than happy to deliver freshly prepared Rum Punch to your suite – and Sunday lunch with a chilled bottle of wine is a must whilst staying at Little Good Harbour!
Other facilities include an informal reception area, two freshwater swimming pools and a small natural beach with sun loungers and gazebos. Guests also enjoy complimentary use of kayaks, snorkelling equipment and wireless Internet access. Tucked away, the luxurious "Little Spa" offers a wide range of treatments, as well as spa packages.
We also highly recommend visiting Little Good Harbour’s sister property, The Atlantis Barbados, on the rugged east coast of Barbados, which was newly opened in late 2009. The restaurant at The Atlantis promises to be another culinary success story on the island – and this small boutique hotel and restaurant is not to be missed if you are looking for more authentic Barbados!
Little Good Harbour is approximately a 60 minute drive from the airport. We recommend hiring a car due to the secluded location of Little Good Harbour.
