Singapore Family Holiday Highlights

Sentosa Island

This small island is connected to Singapore by a bridge and only a 15-minute drive from the main city. If you’ve been thinking of Florida for your next holiday then consider Singapore and Sentosa!

Highlights include the Adventure Cove Waterpark, the Butterfly park, KidZania, South East Asia’s steepest zipwire, the SEA Aquarium, Universal Studios and more!

Singapore City

Within Singapore itself there are loads of activities for families, including the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari, Botanic Gardens, the Singapore Flyer and the Wild Wild Wet Park. For culture, take a walk around Chinatown or Little India. For those who are new to Asia, Singapore is a very safe, clean and low-key experience so it makes a great visit before visiting somewhere more high-octane like Bali, Thailand or Vietnam.

The Singapore Hawker Centres

For a true taste of Asia away from Singapore’s more westernised options, take the family for a lunch or dinner at one of the famous Hawker centres. Be prepared for heat, humidity and plenty of unusual flavours at the following:

Chinatown Complex Food Centre – 5 to 10 minutes’ walk from the Chinatown MRT station.

Maxwell Hawker Food Centre (5 to 10 minutes’ walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT station).

Lau Pa Sat (5-10 minutes’ walk from Raffles Place MRT station) The bewildering array of food choices in these hawker centres are mostly local favourites, not likely to be found in restaurants. The trick here is to follow your nose and to observe the queues (the longer the queue, the more popular the stall is). Chicken Rice, Char Kway Teow, Fish Ball Noodles, Laksa and Roasted Duck rice are must try items when you hit the hawker centres in Singapore.
