Ayada Maldives is a 5-star resort located in one of the most beautiful, peaceful and unspoilt areas in the south of the Maldives.  The 37-acre (15 hectare) island resort, offers exceptional space and privacy with mature, established gardens.   In the heart of these gardens lies the “Secret Garden”, a haven of organically grown vegetables, herbs and fruits, destined straight for the resort’s kitchens, without travelling a single kilometre!

With a choice of seven dining outlets, the local farming community is called upon to provide important supplementary produce, including mangoes, watermelons and Maldivian chillies.  The local farms are regularly visited by Ayada’s chefs and gardening team.  “We do this to ensure the quality and production standards.  We supply seeds, support local farmers in improving their farming techniques and eventually buy their produce”, says Simon Quarrell, Ayada’s General Manager.

Ayada’s Head Gardener and Executive Chef work passionately together in the creation of a wide array of home-grown produce, including vegetables and herbs, such as tomatoes, aubergines, spinach, Maldivian chilly, basil, mint and hydroponically grown salads.  “Knowing where our food comes from and how it’s produced, makes our cuisine more personal, in addition to helping the environment and local farmers” says Executive Chef, Francisco Holmes. Guests can also visit the garden and learn the secrets of gardening directly from Ayada’s head gardener.

There is also a banana plantation at Ayada, growing a variety of Maldivian bananas.  The orchid house and resort’s nursery grow beautiful flowers, plants and trees for adornment of this tropical paradise.

Ayada Maldives is listed among the top 25 resorts worldwide on Tripadvisor, ranked #1 among the top hotels in the Maldives and #8 in Asia as per Traveller’s Choice award 2019. Ayada has 122 private villas and suites, mostly with their own pool, either on the beach or over water, and has interconnecting options for families.  In addition to the great choice of dining outlets, there is a 3,500 square meter spa using Espa products, a dive centre offering a wide variety of water sports (including nearby surfing), and a complimentary kids club.  The house reef is swimable from the property, which is surrounded by a beautiful lagoon.  There are also two great-value All Inclusive packages to choose from.
