Here at Turquoise we have seen a growing trend for honeymooners to travel with their kids far from being a taboo, we and many hotels are welcoming this development after all, why not! Here are some of our tips to honeymoon heaven with little angels…

The first thing to consider is the time of year. Try if possible, to avoid the school holidays. This may not be possible but the Easter and Christmas breaks can be an incredibly expensive time to travel, sometimes costing more than double other times of year. The long summer holiday is a great time to travel – the weather in destinations like Mauritius for an example is still fabulous without being too extreme for young ones.

We can help you choose a hotel suitable for romance and which is also child friendly! They do exist and to be honest, a blend of not too many children and not too many honeymooners works well – honeymooners can be just as noisy and as annoying as kids!!!! So somewhere which caters for both is perfect.

Make sure your room configuration works for you. Obviously young children and babies should be in your room, but we have range of interconnecting rooms or suites available depending on your thoughts and the all important budget.

It’s worth mentioning we have over 5,000 honeymoon offers available and they are applicable regardless if you are travelling with the kids or not. Generally speaking most of our hoteliers honeymoon offers are valid for a year from you wedding date making it very flexible when you travel.

We do recommend you choose a hotel with a children’s and or babysitting facilities, a bit me time never hurt anyone. So once again we can advise on where and what our top recommendations are.

Flying with children can be challenging, make sure you are prepared with games, stories and toys – so bring your Mary Poppins carpet bag with you. We would also recommend a night time departure to give you and your family a good chance of some sleep. Turquoise has range of upgrade options available or if budget is really no problem, then have a look at Qatar Airways Q suites four Business Class which face into each other, offering you the perfect family flying experience.

The  golden rule of travelling with kids especially on honeymoon with kids is not to do too much, avoid long transfers and a multi –centre honeymoon… you are probably asking for trouble. All our transfers are in private vehicles with appropriate child seats and fixtures.
