We’re always excited about sending our clients somewhere new and exciting. For us lately, this has been The Residence Zanzibar. It’s a natural choice; we’ve been sending clients to The Residence Mauritius for years and it has remained a staple of our top ten honeymoon list for nearly as long as we can remember! The brand new Residence Zanzibar is already a hit and with 66 luxury villas to choose from, is a fantastic slice of regal luxury influenced by the best of English and Indian culture.

The Residence Zanzibar is located on the south west coast and has 32 hectares of land all to itself. The land was formerly owned by the Shirazi Princes, proof positive that it’s glamorous and has some of the more glorious scenery that you’ll find anywhere. With lovely turquoise oceans and a mile stretch of soft white beach, you’ll certainly feel like royalty as you relax on your luxury holiday or honeymoon.

The resort is comprised of 66 pool villas, along with two restaurants, two bars, a spa and fitness centre, tennis court, water sports, and complimentary activities for children between 4 and 12 in case you can’t bear to leave the little ones at home. Each pool villa naturally has its own swimming pool, with a satellite TV, internet, bicycles, 24 hour in-villa dining, and professionally trained butlers who ride around on traditional ‘tricycles’ to look after the guests during their stay.

The Residence Zanzibar is just secluded enough to provide luxury while remaining near enough to the rest of the world to keep your days busy, should you wish to leave your seaside hammock. It’s just twenty minutes away from Kizimkazi village which has plenty to do, including world famous dolphin safaris. These ‘safaris’ take you out swimming with the dolphins, a truly unforgettable experience. We recommend you go during dry season as the sea will be calmer and the likelihood of seeing dolphins greater.

The resort is also less than an hour away from the capital of Zanzibar, Stone Town. Stone Town has a lot to see and do and is worth the day trip away; it’s been a historic centre for many years, ferrying in spices, luxury goods, and (unfortunately) slaves for much of its history. Today, you can explore the bazaars and let the many different languages wash over you as you gaze up at forts, cathedrals, and Zanzibar’s unique architectural mix. Explore a museum or two while you’re at it and get a really good idea of the history of this island you’ve come to visit.

Best of all, when you book a Luxury Garden Pool Villa on a half board basis, you’ll get eight nights for the price of six – a fantastic bargain for honeymooners and couples after a bit of romantic seclusion alike. You can escape from just £2390 a person in September 2011, including flights! If that sounds just the ticket for your busy life, call us today, on 01494 678 400.
