Now, if you’re like my wife and I, you have just endured the pain, frustration and, dare I say it, anger of our 16-year-old daughter’s mock GSCEs, you will be probably thinking you deserve a break without your children. But these are only the mocks and after the real things in June, both you and your family will certainly feel like you need a holiday. However, where do you go that will keep exhausted parents, image-conscious daughters and Xbox-obsessed sons happy? Sophie, our daughter, generally asks us to remain in the car anywhere we take her for fear of embarrassment and the most we can get out of her when we ask her anything, is “it’s good”, before the headphones are placed firmly back on.

Now, I have to confess that I am being slightly harsh. Sophie has worked incredibly hard and I have to say, despite the fiendishly complicated new grading system, she is set to achieve better results than either parents dreamt of, so hats off to her. Of course, we want to reward her for efforts as well! But where should we go? Well, the Maldives is a drawcard stronger even than Reading Festival (which seems to be a rite of passage for every 16 year old in the region) and an overwater bungalow beats a pop-up tent!

Our clever Indian Ocean Product Manager Catherine Blanks has teamed up with those lovely people at LUX* South Ari Atoll to arrange a ‘super Sophie’ package. It includes an Instagram safari (whatever that is), DJ class and a mocktail making session. The price is pretty inspirational as well!
With dates throughout the summer, you can choose a date to avoid the festival, keeping your sanity, blood pressure and whatever’s left of your hairline, intact.

Perhaps what’s more important, whatever your child’s grades may be, will be having your offspring eternally grateful, talking to you and with their headphones off. That seems like a reasonable price to pay to be Daddy Cool! Want to know what’s included? Read on…
