I feel incredibly fortunate to have turned my passion for travel into a career at Turquoise – a company that shares my love for creating extraordinary, meaningful holidays. Since joining the team, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing some of the world’s most breathtaking destinations first-hand, and that personal knowledge has only deepened my commitment to curating once-in-a-lifetime itineraries, filled with unforgettable moments that turn a holiday into a memory that lasts forever.

Over the past two years, I’ve dined six metres underwater in the Maldives, enjoying a five-course caviar menu surrounded by a thriving coral reef. I’ve explored the castaway charm of the Seychelles, with its granite boulders, powdery beaches, and laid-back character. In East Africa, I’ve woken up to a giraffe peering through my window in Kenya, ridden camels across the golden plains of Lewa after a bush breakfast, and felt the thrill of being immersed in the South African bush. I’ve fully caught the safari bug and now, gorilla trekking in Rwanda is firmly on the wish list. Closer to home, I’ve embraced the contrasts of Ibiza, hotel-hopping from the buzz of Nobu to the serene stillness of Six Senses, soaking up the island’s dual personality of vibrant energy and peaceful retreat.

With a degree in History of Art, I’ve always been fascinated by culture, how it shapes the way we perceive the world and brings people together. That same curiosity drives my approach to travel, always seeking out the soul of a place, its hidden gems, and authentic moments. I believe travel is one of the most powerful ways to connect with the world and the people in it. It shapes who we are, fills our lives with stories, and leaves us changed in the best possible ways. Whether it’s a romantic island escape or an adventure deep in the African wild, I love working closely with each client to craft trips that are deeply personal, rich in experience, and completely memorable. And with Turquoise’s promise of handpicked luxury, I feel so lucky to help our clients discover the world in the most extraordinary way.

The Turquoise Guide to Portofino

3rd June 2026
by Lara Cowtan

Why Portofino? Tiny, impossibly pretty and wrapped in pine-covered hills, Portofino is the Italian Riviera at its most iconic. Candy-coloured houses curve around a yacht-filled harbour, hidden pathways weave through jasmine and olive trees and long lunches somehow drift effortlessly into sunset aperitivos. It’s early morning focaccia dipped into cappuccino and secret garden pathways scented […]
