Luxury Babymoons
Congratulations – you must be expecting a baby! Once the euphoria (and nausea) has calmed, it’s time to start planning your babymoon.
A babymoon can mean many things to different people. It may be a very personal celebration – after all, you are about to experience nature’s greatest miracle, and perhaps a long-awaited one. It might be a time for quiet reflection on what the future holds in store for your new family.
A “babymoon” is your last holiday before the two of you become three, and it’s the perfect time to treat yourselves to a bit of luxury before bringing the baby home and beginning the next stage of your lives.

Why go on a babymoon?
The months between discovering a baby is on the way and the day of arrival are a very special time in any couple’s lives; you know you’re going to become parents soon, but you’ve still got a bit of waiting and a lot of prepping to do.
While it might initially seem like an age to wait before “B-day,” the weeks will seem to fly by once you’ve passed those initial three months – and nothing is quite the same again.
Now is the chance to spoil yourselves and escape the routine of daily life while you still have the time and energy to do so.

When to go on a babymoon?
So long as you have the proper vaccinations and supplies, most women can travel safely well into their pregnancy.
Many women prefer not to travel in the first 12 weeks or so, as nausea and fatigue are more common during this stage. Some airlines do not allow pregnant women to fly during the last month or two, since the likelihood of going into labour is higher.
Other than that, the world of babymoon destinations is all yours. Just let your doctor know, and be sure that there are health facilities wherever you are going, just in case you need them – a Turquoise holiday specialist will be able to help with that last one.
Best babymoon destinations
Peace and harmony are prerequisites for any babymoon, as is stress-free travel, deliciously fresh food and plenty of fun and relaxation for the pair of you.
We recommend choosing an adults-only resort for your babymoon destination, since this will be your last chance to relax without any children around for a while.
The majority of our favourite Indian Ocean resorts have spas with mother-to-be treatments, truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, whereas the resorts in Mauritius must be at the top of our list for future mums and dads.
Although a little further to travel, the warm sands and sparkling waters of the Maldives will ensure that your babymoon is the last word in wow factor.
Those who can steal only a few days of self-indulgence will love the luxury resorts of the Middle East, where you can enjoy some truly necessary retail therapy.
There are fabulous shopping malls in Dubai, while the luxury desert hideaway Al Maha Resort and Spa will give you the chance to recharge your batteries in preparation for this next exciting chapter of your lives.
Whatever your tastes, your personal Turquoise specialist will help you craft a bespoke babymoon getaway the two of you will never forget.
Mediterranean
Sun-kissed islands, ancient history, beautiful beaches, incredible food and warm hospitality make the Mediterranean endlessly…
Our favourite babymoon hotels
Palazzo Avino
A former palace passed down by several wealthy Italian families over generations, everything inside Palazzo Avino points to a golden age of glamour that has long since past: the abundance of marble, fine fabrics and antiques show no expense has been spared.
Constance Moofushi, Maldives
If you've often wondered where Robinson Crusoe would stay if he ever did 'luxury', your answer is Constance Moofushi Hotel and Resort. Located on Barefoot Island, chic oozes from the resort's every speck of sand, whose fabulously laid-back vibes are completely in tune with its idyllic location.
Katikies Hotel Santorini Oia
The luxury boutique hotel Katikies Santorini is right in the thick of hip, happening and handsome Oia, a glamorous address that is Santorini’s answer to Knightsbridge. And if Oia can be described using those three Hs, then Katikies Santorini excels in a trio of S words: sunsets, sea views and swimming pools.
Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Wellness Resort
Superbly poised between the foothills of the Plaine Champagne and the dreamy Indian Ocean in the south-west corner of Mauritius.
