Likuliku Lagoon Resort, Fiji

It’s hard to miss the fabulously alluring Masima Bar jutting out on a tiny island at the end of the jetty where you’ll be met on arrival with heartfelt Fijian singing. This is also the go-to place for sunset drinks amid atmospheric burning torches lit by Fijian warriors in full regalia. In the heart of the resort, Dua Tale Bar is the place to be for a pre or post-dinner cocktail.  

There’s plenty of opportunity for water action here. Likuliku means calm waters in the local dialect, and this tidal lagoon is the perfect spot to snorkel off the beach, laze by the horizon edge pool or take a boat trip to Monuriki Island to see the filming location for ‘Cast Away’. The highlight of any escape à deux has to be a day spent on Mociu - or 'Honeymoon Island' - Likuliku's very own private island.
