Luxury Family Holidays in February

While any hope of Spring weather is still a distant prospect across Europe, February brings with it the first half term of the year, so those with school age children will be on the lookout for well-priced, long-haul winter sun for their family holiday. If budget is not an issue, the Caribbean and Indian Ocean are perfect for a family holiday in February, and Mauritius in particular works with Friday evening flights from London, returning the following Sunday morning.

If your family enjoys adventure holidays, Vietnam is one of the best family holiday destinations in February, or for wildlife and nature, Sri Lanka is an exotic choice. Topping our chart, however, is Africa. South Africa is easily enjoyed in a week, and we adore malaria free Makayanye Safari Lodge which has introduced an inspired children’s programme in key holiday times including February half term. The safari camps in Tanzania for safari are hard to resist and are perfect for a luxury family holiday in February. If you are lucky enough to have ten days or a fortnight to spare, why not do a safari beach holiday and combine a few days on safari with a week on our favourite spice island, Zanzibar.

Carlisle Bay

Carlisle Bay epitomises the perfect ideal of a luxury Caribbean resort. To the rear a tangle of emerald green rainforest and to the fore, a crescent of white sand beach licked by the warm Caribbean Sea.

Pimalai Beach Resort

Pimalai Resort & Spa

Koh Lanta is a very peaceful place, a natural island with a quiet charm that is thankfully still largely unspoiled with beautiful beaches and soaring emerald green mountains but it is more than this that makes Pimalai so extraordinary. We think it’s the luxury of somewhere very special that manages to be very unique and exclusive but without any of the fuss. Overlooking beautiful Kantiang Bay and surrounded by native forest, this well laid out and low-rise resort sits absolute beachfront and then clambers into the hills behind. Access to the resort is from the mainland jetty by launch – all adding to the sense of exclusivity.

Soneva Fushi

Soneva Fushi, Maldives

The original Robinson Crusoe retreat in the Baa Atoll (superb for diving and snorkelling) and whilst only a 25 minute seaplane flight from Malé, Soneva Fushi’s stunningly remote location is a major factor in its appeal.
