Perhaps the best known of the seven Emirates, Dubai remains a firm favourite of ours at Turquoise. Extravagant to say the least, a luxury holiday to Dubai is known for its innovative hotel design and glamorous culture. Although some may find this over the top, it is easy to forget that Dubai also boasts countless expanses of golden coastline lapped by warm turquoise waters accompanied by a year-round climate of warmth and sunshine.
‘A relative short 7 hour flight, year-round climate and countless luxury hotels offering amazing facilities and gourmet cuisine really make holidays to Dubai hard to resist and why would you, it’s never been better value!’ – Chris, Middle East Specialist
1. Combine your Dubai beach hotel with a couple of nights in the desert to experience the more authentic side of Dubai
2. Enjoy a drive to the famous dunes in late afternoon (when it’s cooler) and indulge in traditional Arabian supper in the desert
3. Friday Brunches are highly recommended! The Address Downtown Champagne brunch is ultra-sophisticated, or if going with kids, we recommend the great Family Brunch at The Kempinski on the Palm
4. Visit the Downtown area; the Dubai Mall, the Fountain, Burj Khalifa – all within walking distance and a perfect place for the whole family
5. ‘Things to do in Dubai’ - list is endless; skiing, golf, seaplanes, shopping, dolphins, water parks. It’s hard to find things that are not available in Dubai!
The waters, which surround the coastline of Dubai, are both calm and clear making it a perfect destination for watersports, fishing and sailing fanatics. Perfect for families, there is something to occupy all ages; from championship golf courses, fabulous shopping malls, desert safaris, camel racing and even sand skiing – no one in the family is at risk of being bored or without something to do!
The beach hotels can be split in two areas – Jumeirah Beach and The Palm. One of our all-time favourite Dubai beach hotels is Madinat Jumeirah – a magnificent playground for all ages. One&Only Royal Mirage is an elegant resort right in the heart of Jumeirah, and its sister property, One&Only The Palm is the perfect romantic sanctuary on The Palm. One of the most stylish hotels on The Palm is Waldorf Astoria, which is relatively small in Dubai’s standards and our big favourite!
If you are combining Dubai with another beach location, such as the Maldives or Mauritius, you might like to consider the Dubai Downtown area to provide a contrast to your two-centre holiday or honeymoon. Choose the Palace Downtown Dubai and you are surrounded by the iconic Dubai Fountain, the Dubai Mall (the world's largest shopping mall) and in the shadow of the Burj Khalifa (the world's tallest skyscraper).

El Nido Pangulasian – Philippines
Tucked away in a secluded bay of emerald waters and dramatic limestone karsts, El Nido Pangulasian in the Philippines is simply sublime. Endless stretches of pristine beaches and a marine sanctuary beneath the waves, you will see why it has been voted as the Most Beautiful Island in the World by Condé Nast Traveller. This really is an untouched, picture perfect haven just waiting to be discovered…
