Soneva Jani

The Soneva story continues with Soneva Jani, their newest resort offering which opened in November 2016. Located in the Noonu Atoll, the resort comprises of five islands, the largest of which is 150 acres in size and is covered with lush tropical greenery and inhabited by land crabs! The highlight is the 5.6 kilometre private lagoon with its gin clear waters and pristine beaches.

STAY

With just 24 Water Villas and one Island Reserve at present, guests will be treated to a unique and luxurious castaway experience. Each Water Villa comes complete with their own 13 metre private pool and some even with water slide from the upper floor into the lagoon below! Another unique feature is the retractable roof in the master bedroom, perfect for stargazing from the comfort of your king sized bed. The bathroom is open air with a sunken bathtub, outdoor and indoor shower and lagoon access. The outdoor deck offers plenty of seating including catamaran nets over the pool, an overwater swing seat and a sunken dining table at the water’s edge.

EAT

The Gathering forms the heart of the resort, a three storey overwater structure which is home to some of the dining outlets as well as the spa, observatory and library. So Fresh is the main all day dining option complete with live cooking stations and wood burning pizza oven. For wine pairing dinners and tasting menus, head to So Imaginative or for something a little more special, So Engaging features the chefs table for 5 very special guests at a time. Cinema Paradiso is set on an overwater deck at the south side of the island and the menus will be tailored to accompany the evening’s film! The newly opened Crab Shack is a cool new crab sharing dining experience with Mud Crabs weighing over one Kilogram specially prepared and accompanied with a selection of starters, sides and desserts, paired wines and spirits with each dish. Last but by no means least, Soneva is famous for its ice cream, chocolate and deli rooms and at So Cool you will find 50 flavours of homemade ice cream, handmade chocolates and gourmet charcuterie & cheese to enjoy throughout your stay.

PLAY

The beach at the north island is the perfect spot to enjoy swimming and snorkelling. Divers will be spoiled for choice with many dive sites in the area and a rich marine life. On land there’s tennis and cycling, as well as nature walks and a fully equipped gym. The spa offers a menu of holistic and traditional treatments using all natural products. You can also enjoy yoga classes as well as the sauna & steam rooms.
