Tailor Made Holidays in December

The Indian Ocean's subtropical climate makes it a year-round holiday destination, but if you are hoping for a winter sun holiday with some December festive flavour, head to the island of Mauritius with its colonial ambience and traditional customs. If you can only snatch a few days away, consider a long weekend in the Middle East where the astonishing resorts of Dubai promise pre-Christmas shopping, great food and guaranteed hot sun throughout December.  The Sultanate of Oman is a quieter and more authentic alternative that is fast coming out of its glitzy neighbour’s shadow.

Christmas in the Caribbean is now getting well and truly into its busy season so look for the quieter islands such as Anguilla, the BVIs, or St Vincent and the Grenadines especially if you are looking avoid the crowds on your holiday. The west coast of Thailand – Phuket and Krabi – is also in the midst of its best weather, as is Malaysia’s West Coast and much of Indochina. Why not consider our 12 day journey through Vietnam, finishing with a few days at the Six Senses Con Dao, a luxurious tropical eco lodge accessible only by boat, and arguably the perfect place to get ready for the onslaught of the Christmas season or prepare you for the year ahead.
