Ten of the Junior Suites enjoy a beachfront location, eight are perched on stilts overlooking the lagoon whilst the remaining 58 Junior Suites are dotted amongst the tropical gardens. The individual Villas are either elevated on stilts or boast private swimming pools and direct access to the soft sand. At the exclusive end of the scale, the aptly named Princely Suite is indulgently lavish. Three bedrooms, two swimming pools, an interior garden and three individual terraces – each of which enjoys a different view of the lagoon – provide a decadent refuge for the most discerning of travellers. For those with children, the Family Suites feature a master bedroom with ensuite and a sitting area plus a children's bedroom with bunk beds and a bathroom. The Family Suites are located on the ground or first floor, with views across the sea or tropical gardens, and two offer direct access to the beach. For larger families or those seeking extra living space, there are also some lavish villas, either on the beachfront with a private heated pool or on stilts overlooking the fish reserve.

Superb food and wine are an integral part of the ‘Prince Maurice’ experience. The magical, ‘floating’ Le Barachois restaurant, which is set at the end of a snaking boardwalk, is as fabulous as the cuisine it serves, whilst à la carte light, spicy flavoured gourmet food is available at the stylish L’Archipel restaurant overlooking the pool. A healthy children’s menu ensures everyone eats well. Rounding off a perfect day sipping cocktails as the sun disappears behind the mountains, is an absolute ‘must’.

Children (from 4-11 years) can meet new friends and unleash their spirit of adventure at the Coconut Tribe, it is a paradise of play, creativity, and island adventure where kids dive into exciting activities while parents relax knowing they’re in the safest, happiest hands. Best room for honeymooners

We love the Garden Suites at Prince Maurice as although these are set just a little back from the beach and dotted in the gardens they are close enough to the beach still and offer great value for money.

Honeymooners will also love the Junior Suites on Stilts – This is quite a novelty in Mauritius as no other hotels offer accommodation of this kind. Located on the Barachois overlooking the sea you have a secluded and romantic spot giving a great sense of tranquillity.
