Folegandros
Close to Paros and Santorini, Folegandros offers a quieter escape, with traditional villages, secluded beaches and glorious views across the Aegean. We love an evening stroll through Chora, where whitewashed lanes lead to pretty squares and welcoming restaurants, or a swim in the clear waters at Agali Beach. For a little adventure, follow the island’s walking trails to remote coves, before finding a favourite spot to watch the sunset.

Chora & Sunset Views
Perched high above the Aegean, Chora is a lovely place to lose an afternoon among whitewashed lanes, flower-filled courtyards and little squares. Explore the historic Kastro quarter, then follow the zigzagging path up to the church of Panagia for sweeping views across the island and sea. We recommend making the climb in the cooler late afternoon, before returning to Chora for dinner. Come evening, tables fill the squares and there’s a wonderful warmth to this small island capital.
Best time to visit Folegandros
Late May to September is a lovely time to visit Folegandros, with sunny days for discovering hidden coves and evenings spent in Chora’s pretty squares. We particularly love June and September, when it’s warm enough for beach days but comfortable for exploring the island’s walking trails. July and August are hotter and busier, with seasonal Meltemi winds bringing a cooling breeze, though boat trips can occasionally be affected.

Folegandros lends itself to secluded stays where the views do much of the talking.
