There is an abundance of opportunity to witness Baja California Sur’s unique variety of coastal wildlife – tropical fish, whale sharks, sea turtles, sea lion colonies, and whale watching are all on offer for animal enthusiasts. Best time to visit Baja California Sur & Los Cabos
The dry season for Baja California Sur and Los Cabos runs from December to April, while the rainy season is from July to October. Hence its name, the dry season is your best bet for uninterrupted sunshine, where the temperatures average around 28°C. Showers do still occur but they are infrequent. January to April is the perfect time to visit for whale watching. Join an excursion into one of the lagoons where you can simply stay in one spot and watch them swim right up to you.
Towards the end of the dry season, around May, the humidity and temperature start to rise. Between July and October, the humidity can be fierce while temperatures can top 35°C. May to November is the official hurricane season and while the west coast dodges many of the hurricanes headed for landfall (as they turn north), storms are not uncommon. The silver lining is the summer months are perfect for surfing or turtle hatchling releases.
