The Oberoi, Bali
The Oberoi Beach Resort in Bali is a classic, one of the original luxury resorts in Bali and the first in Seminyak. When it opened in 1978, the Oberoi stood in isolation in the middle of verdant rice fields fronting a gorgeous long stretch of beach. To reach the hotel, guests would travel through rice paddies, farms and local villages. Since then, a busy and bustling neighbourhood has developed around it with sophisticated restaurants, boutique shops and lively bars within walking distance. However, being the first, the Oberoi is the best located and also boasts generous grounds, with beautiful manicured lawns dotted with frangipani trees, pandanus and coconut palms rolling towards the beach. A sense of calm and order presides and when you are in the resort, Seminyak feels a world away. It really offers the best of both worlds!

The Oberoi’s 74 villas and Lanai rooms are scattered throughout the grounds, designed with the feel of a local village. Both are traditionally Balinese in style, built from local materials with thatched roofs and handpicked local artwork. The spacious Lanai rooms have French doors opening onto a large private terrace with views of the landscaped gardens or ocean. The larger villas have a living area and al fresco dining pavilion with a walled private courtyard. Some also have private pools.
