137 Pillars House, Chiang Mai
The charming boutique 137 Pillars House Hotel in Chiang Mai was originally an old colonial house, built in the early 1800’s, designated to foreigners by the Siam Government, and it was built around the construction of 137 pillars, hence the name. Converted into a hotel in 2012 the design is spectacular, fully capturing the elegance of by-gone days, but with a contemporary finish. Located close the banks of the Mai Ping river it is just a short taxi ride from the centre of Chiang Mai and the lively night markets.
