The Best Honeymoon Destinations in January

The British winter is the perfect time to escape on honeymoon. Therefore if you are looking for a honeymoon in January, we recommend you head to the southern Australian regions such as New South Wales, Victoria or South Australia, where you can hang out in cosmopolitan cities, relax on sun-drenched surf beaches or visit one of the stunning offshore islands such as Lord Howe Island or Kangaroo Island. New Zealand is also an ideal honeymoon destination in January when the country is in the midst of summer.  No other country quite matches New Zealand’s ability to deliver the perfect balance of relaxed beach living, luxuriously unique accommodation, award-winning wine, mind-blowing scenery, Michelin-worthy dining and exhilarating activities.

Of course, if it’s solely paradise beaches you’re after on your honeymoon, then consider the Caribbean, the Maldives or Mauritius. The Caribbean offers a chilled-out vibe, while a honeymoon in the Maldives is great for divers and anyone who loves the idea of staying in an over-water bungalow. You could also choose an exotic Asian country like ThailandVietnam or Laos, which all combine stunning scenery and gorgeous beaches with amazing food and fascinating cultures. Alternatively, consider a January honeymoon in South Africa. Cape Town is glorious during their summertime (our winter months) and take time to visit the beautiful vineyards in the Winelands staying in one of the boutique Cape Dutch retreats.

Don’t forget to check out the details of our Honeymoon gift list service, which allows friends and family to contribute towards travel experiences as well as the more traditional gift list items, all in one place.  A complimentary service for all Turquoise honeymoon couples and looked after by a full time team, it’s just one of the ways we can ensure your dream honeymoon, becomes a reality.
