Luxury Family Holidays in November

November is the start of the beach holiday season in South Africa and few people would argue that Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world especially before peak season begins in December. With ten hour night flights from the UK, no jet lag and driving on the left, there can be few places that make a family holiday with small children more enjoyable.

Mid November to March is the best time to visit the west coast of Thailand, with the passing of the rains and cooling breezes keeping the hot temperatures down so this is a good time to think about heading to Phuket, Koh Samui and Khao Lak for your family holiday before the high season begins in December. It is also the start of the dry season on the west coast of Malaysia, where two of our favourite family-friendly resorts, the private island resort of Pangkor Laut and The Four Seasons Langkawi are located, the latter on one of the best beaches in South East Asia. The Middle East is perfect at this time of year – a great time to snatch some winter sun before the pre-Christmas tourist season brings the crowds. Enjoy the glitz and glamour of Dubai or the authentic culture and beaches of Oman for a memorable family break.

Turquoise waters and aerial views along the beach at Four Seasons Langkawi

Four Seasons Resort Langkawi

Occupying a beautiful 1.5 kilometre beach – one of the best we have found in Malaysia – this elegant resort lies on the tropical island of Langkawi; a UNESCO Geopark idyll of steamy rainforests, rugged mountains and thrilling mangrove forests.

Pangkor Laut Resort

Over 2 million years in the making, this renowned resort sits within a landscape of ancient forests where the trees are as old as the land itself, where sweeping bays are deserted and quiet but for the cry of the macaque monkeys. It is home to Emerald Bay, an unspoilt crescent of sand hugged by the tangle of tropical jungle. This beach is regularly voted as one of the best in the world and it is easy to see why. Only a tiny fraction of the island’s 300 acres has been developed and the resort blends effortlessly into its jungle surrounds – Mother Nature herself could have been the architect! The resort is expansive, however, the clever design means it’s not difficult to find your own perfect piece of paradise.
