HOLIDAYS TO ABU DHABI

Abu Dhabi is the understated capital of the UAE and is made up of small natural islands. This fun and vibrant city offers many attractions and things to do for people of all ages.
With its interesting mix of Middle Eastern charm and modern facilities, the sun-soaked Emirate of Abu Dhabi is the perfect place to catch some winter sun.  Much greener, prettier and more authentically Middle Eastern than nearby Dubai, Abu Dhabi has nearly 250 miles of coastline so water sports are plentiful -  go snorkelling in the clear waters of the Arabian Gulf, take a boat trip to spot dolphins, or gently drift in a kayak through the many natural mangroves.

WHY TURQUOISE HOLIDAYS LIKES ABU DHABI

‘I love Abu Dhabi for its stunning beaches on Saadiyat Island and cultural pursuits including the newly-opened Louvre Art Museum and the Grand Mosque which is absolutely spectacular.  The central courtyard is bound by vast white marble pillars and the whole place shimmers with gold and mother of pearl!  It really is breathtakingly beautiful. The local food is delicious and I would particularly recommend taking afternoon tea at the Emirates Palace – however, it is very popular so do book ahead of time.Sharon, Middle East Specialist

THINGS TO DO IN ABU DHABI

  1. Bury your toes in the powder-soft white sandy beaches of Saadiyat Island.
  2. A vist to Yas Island is a must. Head to the famous Yas Marina Circuit which hosts the annual Grand Prix, thrill seekers will love Ferrari World theme park and Yas Waterworld.
  3. Foodies will adore afternoon tea at Emirates Palace or sky high at The Observation Deck in Jumeriah Etihad Towers whilst looking over the islands below.
  4. Take a tour of the historical sites that Abu Dhabi has to offer, such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the new Louvre Museum Art Museum and Corniche area.
  5. Adrenaline junkies should head away from the coast for off-road driving, desert safaris and sand duning.

Holidays to Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi has a lot to offer. Whether you are staying for a short break or this is your annual holiday, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy the stunning beaches on Saadiyat Island, experience fun and adventure on Yas Island and head to many historical attractions and sites. If you are looking for something different to the usual city stop then head to private island Zaya Nurai which will wow you with its contemporary design and private pool villas.

Turquoise recommends – Abu Dhabi Hotels

For the ultimate beach experience we recommend a holiday at Zaya Nurai Island, relax around your very own private pool and experience a private island similar to those of the Indian Ocean. Emirates Palace is an impressive building and a must visit if only for a wander and afternoon tea! We also love the stylish Park Hyatt and St Regis on Saadiyat Island for a beautiful beach get away and the Ritz Carlton Grand Canal for families with its impressive location. Stop on your way to the Maldives or Seychelles with a couple of nights at Yas Viceroy or St Regis Corniche.
