Family Special - Kenya and Zanzibar

Combine the exhilaration of a family safari in Kenya with a relaxing beach stay on the exotic Spice Island of Zanzibar – a classic East African safari beach experience! Three or four nights in the world famous Masai Mara is usually enough time for your children to go wild about seeing their favourite animals! Young astounded faces will immediately light up at the first sight of a zebra or giraffe and then head to Zanzibar to dust down your safari legs! Intrepid families with slightly older children will enjoy discovering Zanzibar’s intriguing history. The very name Zanzibar evokes childhood images of Sinbad the Sailor, Arabian Nights, dhows, spices and treasure …. young explorers certainly won’t be disappointed! And what’s more, the contemporary villa-style accommodation at The Residence Zanzibar will ensure that parents can indulge in a little luxury too!

  • Days 1-3 Ol Seki Hemingways Mara Camp, Kenya

Arrive in Nairobi in the early morning, following an overnight international flight from the UK and transfer to the domestic Wilson airport to await your flight into the Masai Mara. Flying over Kenya’s vast acacia-dotted plains is like flying into the set of a wildlife film! This magical feeling of seeing free roaming zebra, giraffe, antelope and elephant will have your children hooked from the moment they land on the airstrip!

Your guide will be waiting in an open 4x4 safari vehicle to greet you and transfer you to your two-bedroomed tented family suite at Hemingways Ol Seki Mara Camp. Here you will enjoy the services of a dedicated team of staff along with exclusive use of a game viewing safari vehicle. As well as wildlife spotting, there are plenty of activities to keep the children entertained from learning how to throw a spear, bow and arrow making and traditional fire lighting to listening to campfire stories told by Masai elders. Ol Seki’s bush picnics amidst the wildlife and wilderness will provide lasting memories!

Stay: 3 nights in a Tented Family Suite at Ol Seki, all inclusive.

  • Days 4-7 The Residence Zanzibar

Return to Nairobi to fly to Zanzibar. Your destination is one of the island’s most glamorous all-villa resorts - The Residence Zanzibar - which lies on a mile long powdery white sand beach. Each villa has a fabulous private pool. Children can play hide and seek in the 80 acres of coconut tree-lined gardens or go exploring by bicycle. Dolphin safaris, boat trips on a traditional dhow and excursions to see the rare red colobus monkeys in the Jozani Forest are unforgettable Zanzibari experiences.

Stay: 4 nights in a One Bedroom Luxury Garden Pool Villa at The Residence Zanzibar, half-board.

  • Take me there
