Tena Tena, Zambia
Tena Tena when translated means “temporary home”, which suits this tented camp perfectly as it’s only open during the dry season. Tena Tena has all the same qualities you would expect from a Robin Pope Camp; however by being a tented camp, it has that little bit more out doors, adventurous feel to it. As a lot of people come to Zambia looking for the rawer, remote safari experience, and Tena Tena delivers exactly that. As a result, it is often booked up very quickly, so please enquire now if you’d like to stay.
Tena Tena
The camp has six tents, each with their own private view onto the magnificent Luangwa River. They are also complete with en-suite bathrooms, which are open to the elements, and a private veranda.
The main area is divided into levels moulded around a large mahogany tree. Here under the shade of an enormous strung up tent. You kind of feel like you’re in a tree house! You have plenty of different seating areas to choose from. You will find little corners to simply relax and unwind whilst reflecting on the day's safari… before then sitting down to a beautiful dinner on the banks of the Luangwa, under the stars to the sounds of the African night.
