  • Day 1 – 2 – Anantara Golden Triangle, Thailand

This traditional resort blends into the landscape with its ornate northern Thai design, iconic infinity pool and has its very own elephant camp. During your stay you’ll have a chance to walk with the elephants, join in their playful antics in the river, trek through native forest and past picturesque rice paddy fields, you can even join Elephant yoga or take an elephant picnic!

Stay: 2 nights in a Three Country Deluxe Room at Anantara Golden Triangle on an all-inclusive basis.

  • Day 3 - Luang Say Cruise

This morning you’ll transfer to the Thai-Laos border, where the team from Luang Say will guide you through the formalities before embarking on your journey. This two-day cruise is a wonderfully relaxing way of travelling from northern Thailand, along the legendary Mekong River, to Luang Prabang through some of Laos’s most spectacular scenery. Travel by converted rice barge through remote areas of this mountainous region, stopping off to visit local villages on the way and sampling some delicious local food. You’ll break your journey half way at the Luang Say Lodge, simple but comfortable ensuite accommodation with a local welcome and lovely views down the valley.

Stay: 1 night at Luang Say Lodge, including all meals

  • Day 4 – 6 – Luang Prabang

Unesco World Heritage city and ancient capital, Luang Prabang is a place of enormous charm. As well as temples, markets, museums it is set against a backdrop of mountains, forests, snaking rivers and rice paddies. You can easily waste a few days here just watching the world go by whilst enjoying a coffee of glass of something cold in one of the cities many street cafés and bars. Explore the temples hugging every street corner or venture out to Kuang Si waterfalls and if you haven’t had enough of elephants head to Manda Lao Elephant Camp, a truly wonderful experience.

Stay: 3 nights in a Deluxe Room at Satri House, Luang Prabang, including breakfast

  • Day 7 – 8 – Hanoi

On arrival in Hanoi you will be met and transferred to your boutique hotel in the heart the old quarter by private vehicle.

Hanoi offers an interesting contrast to the more youthful and livelier Saigon. It has a more austere feel with the imposing Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Hanoi is also a city of lakes and parks, with more impressive and elegant colonial architecture than Saigon. A real highlight is the bustling old quarter, the heart and soul of the city. Make the most of your time here with a half day orientation tour with a private guide. The tour takes in the key sights and gives you enough free time to explore independently as well.

Stay: 2 nights in a Canvas Room City View at Apricot Hotel, Hanoi, including breakfast

  • Day 9 – Tam Coc, Ninh Binh (you can add Halong Bay here)

At this stage of a Vietnam tour, many head out to Halong Bay to cruise amongst the spectacular limestone karst scenery and we can easily build that into your stay. However, for those seeking a more untouched experience with equally awe-inspiring scenery, head to Ninh Binh Province, a two hour drive south of Hanoi. It is a spectacular landscape of limestone karts peaks permeated with valleys, some of which are submerged, and surrounded by vertical cliffs. Hop on your bike for a leisurely ride along the quiet roads, local villages and farms surrounded by Northern countryside. Along the way you might see cows or buffalos working on rice fields with farmers or lazy relaxing under shade (depend on rice season). Stop at a farm where you can join in some agriculture activities such as gardening, collecting eggs, picking up grass and helping the family prepare food for their guests. In the afternoon, transfer to Van Long - the largest natural reserve of wetlands. It is also home to 32 stunning grottos named after their different shapes. In the dry season, Van Long is the wintering place of migratory birds from the North. Sit on a rowing boat floating through the picturesque scenery with spectacular mountain ranges creates a natural wall surrounded a vast expanse of water.

Stay: 1 night in a Premier Deluxe Room at Tam Coc Gardens, including breakfast

  • Day 10 – 15 – Fusion Maia, nr Hoi An

After breakfast, pay the visit to Tam Coc, known as “Halong Bay on Land”, where a skilled rower will take you on a 2hr slow journey on the winding river and canals. Enjoy the views of the beautiful karst formations as you enter three of the many natural caves formed under the hills. Visit Thai Vi temple on the way back to Tam Coc for lunch. Return to Hanoi late afternoon for the flight to Da Nang.

This part of Vietnam is home to a beautiful beach which stretches south from Danang to the cultural gem of Hoi An. Central Vietnam is at its best from March to July/August, with wonderful beach weather, but is also excellent from December through to March with cooler temperatures. You'll stay bang on the beach at Fusion Maia, in a private Pool Villa - a wonderful place to unwind, relax and enjoy the daily spa treatments included in the price of your stay. This really is a chance to inject some RnR to your Vietnam holiday, however just 25 minutes by taxi, Hoi An is on your doorstep...... if you can tear yourself away from the pool!

Hoi An itself is a beautiful World Heritage site offering a genuine nostalgic atmosphere of old Vietnam with colonial influences, wonderful food and a vibrant arts scene as well as some of the country’s best tailors.

Stay: 5 nights in a One Bedroom Pool Villa at Fusion Maia, Danang including breakfast and daily spa treatments
