Luxury Family Thailand Discovery

Follow in Max and Tug’s footsteps (if you don’t know who we mean then you must read our book – request a complimentary copy) and explore Thailand’s beaches, jungles, temples and of course spend time in elephants!

Start on one of Thailand best beaches, before spending time up close and personal with the elephants at Elephant Hills, located deep in the jungles of Khao Sok National Park. More Beach time with magnificent mountainous scenery in Krabi before exploring the bustling temples and exciting cityscapes of Bangkok. End your journey in Chiang Mai, in Northern Thailand where you’ll visit the friendly hill tribes in remote villages and visit one of Thailand’s best elephant sanctuaries – Gachorgwa Elephant Camp for a day as a mahout.

  • The Surin

    Days 1 – 4 The Surin, Phuket

    On arrival you will be met and transferred to the delightful Surin, a gorgeous jungle retreat on one of Phuket’s best beaches. Enjoy four lazy days of building sandcastles, swimming pool action, beach barbeques and sunset drinks. The Surin is ideally located close to Surin Beach with plenty of local restaurants to choose from.

  • Elephant Hills

    Days 5 – 6 – Elephant Hills

    Today, you’ll be picked up from The Surin and transferred to Elephant Hills, located in the heart of Khao Sok National Park, the largest area of rainforest in Southern Thailand, Elephant Hills is Thailand’s first luxury tented jungle camp. Khao Sok is undoubtedly one of Thailand’s most beautiful National Parks – with karst limestone formations soaring out of the jungle, clad in lush green foliage and filled with wildlife of all sorts – nature’s playground with the most stunning backdrop. Children will be able to learn all about the habitat and habits of the elephants. A wide variety of activities are included and the highlight is their mahout experience which offers the wonderful opportunity to feed and wash the elephants. Enjoy a canoe ride on the Sok River and kayaking on the lake or for the more active, jungle trekking!

  • Rayavadee

    Days 7 – 10 – Rayavadee, Krabi

    Transfer from Elephant Hills down to Krabi, where you’ll be whisked across the sea to Rayavadee, a stunning resort located on the magnificent Railey Bay, only accessible by boat. As well as boasting one of the most scenic locations in Thailand, Rayavadee with its purpose built two bedroom Family Pavilions, will tick all the boxes for a relaxing family holiday. There are plenty of activities for children too, from snorkelling and sea kayaking, water rafting to nature walks and elephant treks. Or if you are looking to try something new why not try your hand at rock climbing! Of course there are also more gentle boat trips to neighbouring islands the whole family can enjoy.

  • Wat Pho

    Days 11 – 12 Anantara Bangkok Riverside, Bangkok

    Fly up to Bangkok today, where on arrival our local guide will meet you and transfer you to the Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort, an ideal choice for families with a huge resort pool, kids club and spacious rooms. However you are here in Bangkok to explore the city and see the temple where Max and Tug encountered the monks. Our full day city safari is a fantastic way to explor like a local – our guide will take you to discover the many and varied aspects of everyday life in the Thai capital, using public transport.

    The day’s adventures will then begin with a ride on the city's Skytrain, transporting guests to the Chao Phraya River. A public boat, often used by Bangkok commuters, then continues upstream to the twin treasures of Wat Pho and the Grand Palace, before lunch is taken at a nearby local restaurant. In the afternoon, guests board a boat for a fascinating trip along Bangkok's network of canals - another magical way to experience local life in the Thai capital that the kids will LOVE. Finish off the day with a ride on a tuk tuk ride, driving through Ratchadamnon Road to a local pier and back to the hotel – or spend some time shopping at some of Bangkok’s markets or shopping malls.

  • Kasara River View Suite

    Days 13 – 15 Anantara Chiang Mai

    Back to the airport today for a flight to Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. Chiang Mai is within easy reach of the lush green and mountainous countryside and trips can include visits to Hilltribe villages, elephant camps and short treks or rafting in beautiful national parks. The city itself is famed for its golden temples, colourful night markets and excellent cuisine. This is where Tug found his parents at one of the Elephant Sanctuaries and our suggested itinerary includes a day at Gachorgwa Elephant Camp. This small and personal camp was established with the intention to help improve the quality of life for elephants and their mahouts as well as preserving the traditional Karen wisdom on how to care for elephants and providing accurate theories regarding to the health of elephants and mahouts and the environment.

    This experience allows you and your family to engage and understand by learning how to make friends with the elephants, taking care of them emotionally and physically. You will have the opportunity to help bathe the elephants to help cool them down after an hour strolling up the mountain through the woods, giving stunning views like no other. Then there will be a chance to feed the elephants as a sign of thanking them and leaving the day with a memorable experience.

  • Day 16 – Home

    Your journey ends here with a transfer back to the airport for your fight home.
