Elephant Hills Reviews

Elephant Hills Tented Jungle Camps, Thailand

Elephants hills - this was one of our highlights of our trip. Purely because its not often you get to wash, feed, and play with the elephants. the location was stunning, the elephants got treated so well, and we had so much fun there. The camp itself was abit like glamping, had everything you need. Moving on to the floating camp was so cool, and so nice. viewing the sheer size of the dam and lake was astonishing. When we arrived at the camp we decided against the hike, so just wanted to swim and canoe around the lake, it was so nice and so refreshing, chilled and calm. Our tour guide Bua, was so lovely, and so attentive, her customer service really enhanced the experience as well as many of the guests we met here.

The hotel and room was a dream. Being on the Club Level offered us flexibility and top service and we even received a surprise birthday cake for my husband’s big day, which was the day after we arrived. Yum! This was our most anticipated part of the honeymoon, as it was an adventure beyond any relatable experience either of us had before. Feeding and washing the elephants was truly wonderful and we enjoyed it even more than originally expected. (see video) However, both of us agreed that the highlight was the floating camp. Swimming and kayaking in the lake, surrounded by peaceful wilderness was truly spiritual. And the intense jungle downpour and thunderstorm that we had in the evening just added to the overall experience. It was dramatic, exciting and really gave us a sense of isolation, which is what two Londoners didn’t know we really needed.

Elephant Hills....wow! Elephant hills was just perfect. All the activities were great fun, but of course the beautiful ellies were the highlight. Being woken by gibbons in the rainforest camp was something I'll never forget too - what a sound they make!

Elephant hills - this was the highlight of our trip especially the floating tents although we didn't get much sleep with all the jungle noises, it was amazing to hear.

The transfer to Elephant Hills wasn't as long or hot as we expected which was a relief, and it was certainly worth it. Everyone who goes to Thailand should go to Elephant Hills. It was the absolute highlight of our trip. I think it was just 'camping' enough for us, not too scary and wild, but still a flavour of what camping in the jungle is like - including the giant centipedes and mosquitoes! The canoe safari was beautiful - the limestone mountains are a landscape we will never forget. But the elephant experience was one of the best days of my life, such gentle creatures, and handles with such respect. I was so pleased they didn't let people ride them, and that the mahouts looked after one elephant each - like a friend! The camp itself was lovely, great food, and good entertainment in the evenings. There was an amazing storm that night which lit up the mountains - and cut the power haha! The floating campsite was amazing, definitely my favourite sleeping place, and waking up to the sun rising over the jungle was just gorgeous. Alex enjoyed a morning swim in the warm waters! The jungle trek was a little scary if I'm honest, few too many creepy crawlies than I like - giant spiders, snakes, crickets, chicadas, giant ants etc, especially in a big cave we went in to! I would definitely recommend anyone who doesn't really like creepy crawlies to avoid the trek.

Elephant Hills was great! Actually its pretty luxury- we were a little worried about being in a tent for our honeymoon but it was one of our highlights- particular the night on the lake- it was great- unfortunately- only down side was they decided to give us twin beds in the elephant hills which was a little disappointing for our honeymoon.
