Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora Reviews

Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora, Tahiti

What a stunning location! Bora Bora totally lives up to it's reputation and the four seasons resort could not do enough to make our stay more welcoming and personalised. From the boat that comes to pick you up from the airport, to the hand written notes in our overwater bungalow, the trip did not disappoint in anyway. We loved Moorea and enjoyed hiking around the island, though the transfer to the Hilton was something that could have felt more special and personalised. Michelle was superb in the timely way she responded to all our questions and provided options along the way. If we could have upgraded our flight from LA to Tahiti, that is truly the only thing that would have added to the experience. Thank you Michelle & Turquoise for a trip of a lifetime and memories that will last forever! Sabrina & Ben

Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora, Tahiti

We are just home from the most amazing trip ever; 3 weeks in French Polynesia for our 35th (Coral) Wedding Anniversary. All organised and tailored to our exact requirements by the lovely Lyndsey, at Turquoise. We first used Turquoise Holidays for our Silver Wedding trip to Soneva Gili (now Gili Lankanfushi) in The Maldives and were so impressed by the first class, personal service that the team at Turquoise deliver that we never considered looking anywhere else when planning this special trip, some 10 years on. As a proposed ‘once in a lifetime’ holiday, we were looking to experience many different aspects of French Polynesia in one single visit. Lyndsey suggested a small quiet hotel, on the smaller island of Huahine, to allow us time to recover from the 4 flights and 38 hours of travelling (door to door) from Scotland. We had decided against a stopover in LA as this would have eaten into our precious time in the Society Islands. We chose the Relais Mahana, a charming, traditional ‘pension’ style hotel on the quieter, southern part of the island - Huanine Iti. There are only a handful of bungalows nestled in the most beautiful sandy bay and we were lucky enough to be granted our request of a beachfront bungalow where we literally stepped off our deck onto the white coral sands ……. just 3 metres from the turquoise lagoon. The Relais Mahana was perfect. Excellent traditional ‘Polynesian style’ cooking with the freshest of fish and vegetables on both lunch and dinner menus; a small coral garden, teeming with fish, just under the jetty, and simply - peace, quiet and solitude. An ideal, almost ‘castaway-like’ experience, to start off our adventure. Four days of rest and relaxation later, we are picked up at the Relais Mahana jetty by Tahiti Yacht Charters’ captain, Manu. Manu is to be our captain and also our tour guide for the week. His knowledge and enthusiasm for these islands is beyond impressive. We spend the next 7 days aboard a luxury 40’ catamaran, visiting some of the most beautiful spots in the Society Islands. This company specialises in ‘romantic’ yacht charter packages. We had an extensive detailed itinerary from 8am to sunset each day. We swam with sharks, we fed stingray and dived with mantaray, we snorkelled in coral gardens boasting the largest collection of tropical fish we have ever seen. And swam in shallow lagoons – the most dazzling shade of turquoise. We paddle-boarded, we kayaked, we floated in sea hammocks. We hiked through a jungle, we visited a vanilla plantation and even enjoyed a complimentary couples spa treatment at a luxury hotel on a nearby motu. But above all, we enjoyed the most amazing cuisine every single day, all prepared by Lei, our hostess. Lei skilfully prepared every meal from scratch from the tiny galley with as much expertise as any chef in any fine French restaurant. We would highly recommend this sailing trip to anyone visiting French Polynesia. It’s a definite bucket list item, this one! Week 3 and we are dropped off at what has to be the most beautiful place on this planet …. The Four Seasons, Bora Bora. Never in our lives have we visited somewhere that looks better in real life than in travel brochures and postcards. But Four Seasons way exceeded our expectations, on all counts. Once again, Turquoise had noted on our reservation that this was a special occasion, anniversary trip. We were left absolutely speechless when Federico took us to our bungalow; we had been given a complimentary upgrade to one of the huge water bungalows with it’s own plunge pool at the end of the jetty. I cried!! Situated on one of the outer motus, facing the imposing Mt Otemanu, - in the centre of this stunning coral island, we can already see why The Four Seasons, Bora Bora has repeatedly won awards for being the ultimate destination in the whole wide world. The lagoon is more than 50 shades of blue. The Four Seasons staff are the most courteous, gracious people ever.

Island of the month: Mauritius
