The H Resort, Beau Vallon Beach

In 1502, Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama identified and mapped a cluster of uninhabited coralline and granitic islands whilst sailing from India to Africa. From this moment, the islands of the Seychelles have born influence from countless cultures. Not only did this founding discovery shape the country’s historic journey, over 500 years later, it has shaped the concept behind The H Resort Beau Vallon Beach. A unique oceanside retreat with all the modernity's of a 5-star resort and a Seychellois storyline running throughout, the hotel offers an abundance of dining options and facilities to guests, as well as independent bars and restaurants within walking distance. This combination of luxury and local makes The H Resort Beau Vallon Beach a Turquoise favourite.

SLEEP

For privacy and space, the Beach Pool Villas and Grand Beach Pool Villas at H Resort are our top pick, each designed with a contemporary Seychellois flare. Bright colours blend with intricately designed wooden furniture and local artefacts. No beach in the Seychelles is private, so although these villas are less than ten paces from Beau Vallon beach itself, guests must be prepared that there is no ‘direct’ beach access, to maintain privacy at all times. Amidst lush gardens, giant chess boards, winding paths and a rush filled lagoon, you will find the Junior Suite and Garden Junior Suite accommodation. Sun saviours will love the ground floor Suites, easily accessible from the main resort and home to a duo of sumptuous loungers on afternoon sun trap terraces. For more privacy, opt for a first-floor Suite, each with an ocean facing balcony boasting elevated sunset views.

EAT

Bringing the history and heritage of the Seychelles to life through dining experiences, enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail at 1502, before a bbq beach dinner and dancing (every Friday night) at Vasco’s. This is the resort’s main restaurant, serving daily breakfast and dinner; a buffet extravaganza of Mediterranean and Creole cuisine. For a splash of spice and flavours of the east, reserve a table at lagoon side teppanyaki fine dining restaurant Seyshima, named by combining ‘Sey’ for Seychelles and ‘Shima’ the Japanese word for island. A casual all day dining menu of light bites and refreshing cocktails can be found at Ripples, perfect for laissez faire poolside lunches, whilst soaking up the Seychellois sun. For those romantic evenings, just the two of you, don’t miss ‘Tête-à-Tête’, a candlelit beach dining experience with private chef, or an evening at The Eden Restaurant, a hidden gem serving ‘caught that day’ seafood and local meat, all grilled right there and then on an open fire …beachside bliss. On top of these wonderful in resort eateries, a stay at The H Resort Beau Vallon Beach would be incomplete without a night at Trader Vic’s… the Seychelles’ only Polynesian bar and restaurant, a favourite amongst locals and guests alike, located adjacent to the hotel’s entrance. Exotic cocktails (we highly recommend the Mai Tai), mouthwatering dishes (cooked in a Chinese wood-fired oven), Ambar Latin and Cuban music (bring your dancing shoes) all make up an amazingly vibrant and fun atmosphere every Tuesday to Sunday night.

PAMPER & PLAY

The Sesel (creole for Seychelles) Spa is a serene oasis in which to relax, unwind and be pampered. Designed as a tribute to the destination, the Sesel team adopt a holistic approach to wellbeing and offer treatments combining local essential oils and ingredients with international techniques. Complimentary yoga sessions are on offer each afternoon, apart from Saturdays, and there is an abundance of activities to keep kids (of all ages!) occupied such as pétanque, table tennis, giant chess, volleyball and a fully functioning gym. Snorkelling equipment and kayaks are complimentary for guests to enjoy at their leisure and Beau Vallon is a fabulous and safe swimming spot. Beyond the beach, we encourage active couples and families to consider exploring the neighbouring Morne Seychellois National Park, offering miles of walking trails amongst the stunning flora and fauna of this tropical island idyll.
