Sleep

The resort is divided into two exquisite hotels; Al Waha and Al Bandar. Al Waha is best suited for families and Al Bandar is the resort’s centre point with its seven restaurants and bars. With stunning views across the luscious landscaped gardens, Al Waha features beautifully appointed guest rooms which are ideal for busy families. Generous with space, the Family Rooms comprise of two interconnecting bedrooms, one furnished with a king-sized bed and the other with twin beds. Specially designed with younger guests in mind, the twin room benefits from a selection of features including a DVD player, a PlayStation and a collection of popular games for happy family times! Al Bandar is ideal for couples and families with sea-facing rooms.

Eat

Guests staying Al Waha can enjoy Samba where international cuisine is provided, along with a relaxed, child-friendly atmosphere at Surf Cafe. In-between Al Waha and Al Bandar, guests can also enjoy the resort's popular fresh catch by the sea. Al Bandar offers a rich range of dishes, from Southeast Asia street food to tapas and Middle Eastern spreads, which guests from Al Waha can enjoy, too.

Chi, the Spa at Shangri-La, is located at between Al Bandar and Al Waha. It offers treatments, peace and tranquility in one of the largest spa villas in Muscat. The resort offers a wide variety of excursions from city and desert tours, dolphin watching, scuba diving, snorkelling trips and wide range of non-motorised watersports.

Sailing

GLAMPING ABOARD 75” SY AZURRA

One of Oman’s least known treasures, the World Heritage Listed Dimanyat Islands are an archipelago of nine atolls, only 11 nautical miles off the coast of Muscat. Uninhabited apart from a small police outpost, the islands are a nature reserve with spectacular coral reefs, ideal for snorkelling and diving - and you are definitely far from the mobile grid! Family glamping takes on a new meaning here as you set sail from Muscat’s Wave Marina aboard the magnificent 75” sailing catamaran, SY Azzura. Azzura can cater for up to a maximum of 8 guests (perfect for two families) and you will sleep on the huge nets of the yacht under the stars – without compromising on comfort! The crew of five includes a full-time chef – food on board is a gourmet affair (wine and beer can be arranged for an extra cost). Children as young as six are encouraged to help set the course, steer the yacht and older teenagers can assist with the sails. Drop anchor off one of the atolls and spend the days snorkelling, exploring on land and fishing from the tender. The yacht will island hop for two days and if mobile withdrawal symptoms really set in, the crew can always send your mobile up the mast in an effort to send and receive messages! The best time to go is either the Easter school holidays or October half term.
