Jungle Chic at its best!

Fly to Kota Kinabalu and hop over to Gaya Island Resort for four nights, then journey into Danum Valley’s rainforest for a three-night jungle safari, staying at Borneo Rainforest Lodge, where you can walk in the treetops and go on a trek to see wildlife (birds, monkeys, orang-utans and even pygmy elephants). End your trip with seven nights on Langkawi Island at The Datai, which has villas set in the rainforest and is home to one of Malaysia’s best beaches.

  • Days 1-4 Gaya Island Resort

Fly overnight to Kota Kinabalu via Kuala Lumpur where you will be met and transferred to Sutera Harbour where you are whisked away to Gaya Island Resort by speedboat. Enjoy 4 nights to relax on the island. Enjoy the beach and the spa, head off on jungle treks with expert ranger guides or enjoy snorkelling and scuba diving. It is also easy to visit Kota Kinabalu and enjoy a range of excursions if you can drag yourself away from the island!

Stay: 4 nights in a Bayu villa at Gaya Island, including breakfast.

  • Day 5 - 7 Borneo Rainforst Lodge

Days 5-7 Borneo Rainforest Lodge, Danum Valley

Transfer back to the airport for your early flight to Lahad Datu where you will travel by 4WD into the pristine Danum Valley and Borneo Rainforest Lodge, one of Asia's best wildlife lodges. Spend the next three days exploring the rainforest with your ranger guide. Wildlife is prolific here and you have a good chance of seeing pygmy elephants, wild orang-utans, gibbons and a range of striking birdlife. There is also plenty of activity from river tubing, swimming in waterfall pools, jungle trekking and if weather permits heading out on night safaris.

Stay: 3 nights at Borneo Rainforest Lodge, including all meals

Day 8 Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu

Spend a relaxing morning at the lodge before transferring back to the airport for your short flight to Kota Kinabalu where you will spend one night at the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru  Resort. Make the most of the resort facilities including a relaxing spa and pool. The resort is ideally placed to explore the city and dinner in one of the local seafood restaurants whilst watching the sunset is a must. Please note - it is possible to fly all the way to Langkawi in the same day but it is a very long journey with three flights so we suggest breaking the journey.

Stay: 1 night at the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort.

  • Days 9-14 Langkawi

Fly back to Kuala Lumpur where you’ll connect with a flight to Langkawi. On arrival, our local agents will transfer you to the gorgeous Datai Hotel. Nestled within pristine rainforest leading down to a private white sand beach overlooking the azure waters of the Andaman Sea, The Datai is consistently ranked as one of the world’s best hideaways. A romantic ‘back-to-nature’ retreat with a style perhaps best described as understated ‘Asian chic’, The Datai is the ‘original Langkawi gem'. Here, nature and design complement each other perfectly. Footpaths through the jungle and open-air walkways, flanked by tall trees, link the hotel’s main areas (and the two beautiful swimming pools) with the stunning rooms, suites and free-standing villas.

During your stay you can do as much or as little as you please. Indulge in the jungle spa, relax by the pool or beach or venture off on a mangrove safari and spot everything from fiddler crabs to dancing dolphins; trek into the ancient jungle or hop on a bike and pedal the paddy fields and rubber plantations.

Stay: 6 nights in a Deluxe Room at The Datai, including breakfast

Please note - from 4 Septembr 2017 through to mid 2018 The Datai will be closing for extensive renovations. During these dates we would reccommend the four star Andaman, located on the same beach as The Datai or the five star Four Seasons Langkawi.

  • Take me there
