Tahiti Pearl Beach Resort

With 101 rooms and suites designed to accommodate both couples and families, the resort has plenty of space for everyone. Our favourite category, the light-filled Signature Suites, have floor to ceiling retractable windows to soak up the ocean breeze and views of the dramatic black sand beach below. Some categories feature a hot tub, ideal for enjoying sunsets over the bay, while others offer a fully equipped kitchen. 

For families, the bright and sunny Two Bedroom Signature Suites can sleep up to 6 guests with extra bedding as required.  Each room and suite opens onto a large terrace with panoramic views of Matavai Bay, the perfect place to relax and listen to the gentle lapping of the waves, or the pounding surf, depending on the wind and the tide! 

Just steps from the pool, with impressive ocean views, the Hiti Mahana restaurant offers a blend of local and international dishes, from breakfast through to dinner.  As the day ends, head to Bay Bar and enjoy a cocktail set against one of the island’s most breathtaking sunsets.

Twice a week, the resort comes alive with the rhythm of local culture, featuring Polynesian and Marquesan evenings with traditional dance.  Discover the rich cultural heritage of the islands in a vibrant atmosphere, and be enthralled by the powerful and authentic performances.  

The large pool overlooks the ocean, with direct access to the black sand beach and the impressive lush green cliff overlooking the bay. The hike to the top takes around 30 minutes and you'll be rewarded with endless views across Matavai Bay, the deep blue ocean and Moorea in the distance.  This historic bay is rich in Tahitian and European history, with visitors who dropped anchor here including Cook, Bligh, Wallis, Vancouver, Bougainville and Charles Darwin. 

When pampering beckons, Tavai Spa offers treatments inspired by local traditions, as well as a sauna and  hammam. There's also a fitness centre and boutiques dedicated to Polynesian artwork, crafts and Tahitian pearls.
