Garden Route

Kurland, South Africa

This family-owned and operated 12 suite retreat on the Garden Route is a long-standing favourite of ours. It oozes Cape Dutch character and is set on a beautiful private estate, complete with its own polo club, in the foothills of the Western Cape Mountains, close to the sweeping golden beaches of Plettenberg Bay and Nature’s Valley.

Highlights

Kurland

Sleep

The Luxury and Superior Suites are housed in charming cottages dotted throughout the pretty rose gardens and all have an upstairs loft room, specially furnished for little ones!

Eat

The children’s menu incorporates ingredients grown in Kurland’s organic herb and vegetable garden and children may choose to dine in a variety of venues including their own children’s dining conservatory, the playroom or by special invitation to the exclusive Chef’s Table in the kitchen. Breakfast and dinner are a healthy scrumptious affair usually served in the main homestead whilst the bistro-style Katarina’s Restaurant serves equally tasty lighter fare overlooking the estate’s paddocks and lake.

Play

For younger guests, as well as a large kid’s playroom and children’s swimming pool, Kurland offers a host of activities such as horse and pony riding on the estate, mountain biking and quad biking (for children over 16 years). There’s also a tennis court and some wonderful walking trails nearby. Parents – don’t miss the Luxury Spa!
