4 day journey - Siem Reap - Kompong Pluk - Ta Prohm - Angkor Wat

Explore Angkor and Beyond

What could be more memorable than seeing the sun rise over the distinctive towers of Angkor Wat itself or watching the sunset cast a golden glow on one of the imposing stone faces of The Bayon?

Cambodia is home to the magnificent temples of Angkor, whose very name is synonymous with Asian mysticism, jungle temples and the exotic architecture so unique to the region. Just a short hop from Singapore, Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur and now home to some ultra-chic hotels, Siem Reap makes a fantastic short break and is easily combined with an Asia beach holiday for those looking for a taste of culture and adventure with a full on wow factor.

We’d recommend spending at least 3 days exploring the temples – we are not talking 3 full days touring as in the heat of the midday sun it can be tiring and this supposed to be your holiday! We suggest a few half days tours, giving you time to relax in the afternoons and make the most of your luxury hotel.

The below itinerary includes all the key temples but is planned carefully to avoid the crowds and takes in other less touristy sights like Kompong Phluk on the Tonle Sap Lake and the lesser visited Roluos temples. Each day the temples you’ll visit become more and more impressive, culminating in the grand finale at Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. Of course this is just a suggestion and we can easily reduce the length of stay or tailor an itinerary especially to your requirements.

Why Turquoise loves...
Cambodia
“Cambodia is best known for its temples and for good reason – the awe-inspiring temples of Angkor offer a window into the ancient Khmer Kingdom, enthralling all who are lucky enough to visit. However, if you look beyond the temples, Cambodia has much more to see and do. Beautiful white-sand beaches rival the Maldives in Koh Rong, there’s local culture in Kep and Phnom Penh and wilderness retreats in the Cardamom Mountains mean Cambodia is an amazing stand-alone destination.” Cambodia travel specialist
