Knai Bang Chatt, Cambodia
Located along the southern coast of Cambodia, this little known stylish retreat is truly enchanting. Set apart from other hotels in the unspoilt coastal resort of Kep this serene haven is just 4 hours from Phnom Penh by road, 3 hours from the Vietnam border at Chau Doc or a thrilling 45 minute helicopter ride - yet it is a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Knai Bang Chatt
This exclusive resort is enclosed and set in a garden with an infinity pool overlooking the calm sea. The 11 rooms are divided between 3 villas and are individually decorated in unique contemporary minimalist Khmer style, with beds on stilts and traditional concrete flooring.
This resort is for true escapists rather than beachcombers, but white sand beaches can be found a short boat ride away on Rabbit Island.
The sailing club is the perfect location for sunset as not only does it provide guests with hobie cats and kayaks but is also the location of a bar and restaurant. The wooden building was formerly a fisherman’s house and features a pier for swimming and sunbathing.
For those not meditating and enjoying the peace of the resort there is plenty to do in the surrounding area such as visiting nearby Kampot’s old temples and caves or venturing up to Bokor mountain, where the ruins of a palace and a casino stand. All excursions can be arranged by the resort.
