Jao Camp

Jao Camp is located in a private reserve within the heart of the Okavango Delta, raised on wooden deck on the flood plains itself; you do not get closer to the action than from here. The number of wildlife is vast, both diversity and number. For starters wildlife includes elephant, giraffe, antelope, zebra, hippo and crocodile as well as the big cats – lion, leopard and cheetah.

PLAY

The focus at the camp is naturally water based, with activities on offer such as mokoro canoeing, fishing and boating whilst in the summer, land based game drives in open vehicles predominate . Guided walks and night game drives are available year round. The Green Season, from December to March, sees the most rainfall.

SLEEP

Jao has nine beautiful canvases and thatched tented rooms, each individually designed by the renowned architects, Sylvio Rech and Leslie Carstens (who also designed Vumbura Plains and North Island in the Seychelles). The rooms include en-suites  – and each room also has a private sala and enormous veranda with hammock – just for when you want to relax for enjoy an afternoon siesta, whilst overlooking the wondrous Okavango.  And lastly, there’s swimming pool with a view, naturally.

Guana Island, British Virgin Islands

Guana Island is a rainforested bolthole that offers the ultimate in tropical seclusion. It has seven (yes, seven!) pristine beaches and acres of island wilderness that you can explore and enjoy almost all to yourself, bar a few inquisitive rock iguanas and migratory birds. Bliss!
