Two Week Christmas Down Under

Head down-under for a Christmas swathed in sunshine. Swap your turkey for a shrimp on the barbie and see in the New Year with fireworks on the beach – sound tempting? This winter sun trio combines a city stay in Sydney, with a classic Aussie surf stay in Byron Bay, ending with a luxurious stay in the Whitsundays at Hamilton island Beach Club.

  • Sydney Harbour

    Day 1 – 4 – Sydney

Boasting a spectacular harbourside setting, fabulous beaches, superb restaurants and laid-back outdoor lifestyle, Sydney is an essential ingredient to any holiday down-under. There is nothing like your first glimpse of the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House – for the best views we’d recommend spending an afternoon sailing around the hidden bays and beaches of the bay, a great introduction of local life. After an overnight flight on arrival in Sydney, you’ll be transferred to the Harbour Rocks Hotel. This is an ideal base to enjoy the city, just a short walk from Circular Quay and the bustling Rocks district. (Please note – supplements will apply if your stay crossed New Year’s Eve where many hotels impose minimum stays and increased rates)

Stay: 4 nights in Sydney at Harbour Rocks Hotel including breakfast

  • Byron at Byron

    Day 5 – 9 – Byron Bay

A short hop north of Sydney, Byron Bay is a chic seaside town, known for its incredible beaches, hot surf breakfast, lush hinterland, hip cafés, restaurants and shops. We’ve included a few days car-hire here so you can explore the area, head into the verdant rainforest and meander around the charming villages. You’ll be staying at The Byron at Byron, a Turquoise favourite for its laid-back luxury and friendly welcome, just moments from an unspoilt beach. The town centre is busy and buzzing at this time of the year, great for a party atmosphere. For those who like to dip into the energetic town but retreat to a more chilled atmosphere, then The Byron at Byron is about ten minutes’ drive away by resort shuttle.

Stay: 5 nights in Byron Bay at The Byron at Byron including breakfast

  • Whitehaven Beach

    Day 10 – 14 – Hamilton Island, Whitsundays

Final stop – the Whitsundays. A flight from Brisbane and before you know it you’ll be relaxing on a sunlounger at the five-star Beach Club Hotel on Hamilton Island. This charming resort is right on the beach and close to the bars and restaurants at the marina. There is plenty to do on this buzzy little island. Enjoy miles of walking trails through the island’s unspoilt rainforest, water sports on Catseye beach, golf and a wildlife park. If you are in the mood for relaxing, you can lounge by one of the many island pools, enjoy a massage or spa treatment, indulge in renowned food and wine, browse local boutiques, or simply explore the island in your golf buggy. You can visit the magnificent Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach by helicopter, seaplane, yacht or a catamaran tour.

Stay: 5 nights on Hamilton Island at The Beach Club including breakfast
