First of all, thankyou very much for organising the holiday of a lifetime – we had so much fun (and a couple of thousand photos) that we will remember it forever.

As someone that spends a lot of my time travelling I am probably very picky with trips, but here is what I thought,

Melati
This place was a good start, the weather was a bit mixed and was windy for most of the week, but I guess that this is expected for an island. The accommodation was pretty good and the extra touches for our honeymoon were really nice. It took us a few days to unwind and get into the trip and this slow start probably meant that we didn’t do very much there. At the resort itself the social side was a bit lacking and we had to go out into town more than expected, but there were some nice options once we got moving. No free internet was annoying. This would be a great place for a family holiday.

Casa de la Flora
A M A Z I N G .................. If the Melati was a 5* resort then this must have been at least 8 – this was the best place I have ever stayed at. We upgraded from the first smaller room that we had booked after the first night, to be honest we really didn’t like it and it was quite dark, but the new bigger room was great. The service was fantastic, the food was great (they made whatever you wanted), the staff knew everyone’s names, everyone was really helpful. The place was so nice and everybody was clearly having a great time, we met some great people there – and have been skiing with them since. I have recommended this place to a lot of people since we got back.

Metropolitan Bangkok
I think that this was a case of back to reality and a bit of a culture shock after three weeks on the beach. The hotel was a bit too cool and the service suffered, the food was expensive and nowhere near as good as the other places – although the concierge told us about an amazing restaurant just down the street. We were above the bar/club and on the Friday night we couldn’t sleep as the music was so loud. I think that in hindsight we should have done the Bangkok stay at the start as after three weeks of barely moving a crazy city was a bit too much for us, but we planned trips out of the city through Exotissimo Thailand which ended up being great.

Overall a great trip, I cannot say enough good things about Casa de la Flora and we will probably return there in the future. All of the transfers were seamless, and the organisation was great. Thanks again for your help.

Lastly, beyond the memories of the trip itself we will have a lifelong memory which is due at the end of September – and will probably be called Flora (at least as a middle name) if it is a girl!!!!

I have recommended your company to anyone that asks, as this trip was amazing.

Everything was fantastic and each place we visited just got better and better. I cannot wait to return to Saigon - spend a bit longer there and also would return in a jot to anywhere in Vietnam. What a beautiful country and what lovely people.

We stayed in both a water villa and a beach villa; next time we'll plump for the beach villa only, it was more spacious, peaceful and a wonderful location, the outside shower was great too. Maldives were great! The experience was altogether brilliant. We were very lucky with the choice of villa which was on a beach called Sunset Beach. The best beach on the whole island in that it wasn't so deep and it had this really cool steep incline into the water. Very cosy feel to it. Perfect to play in the water with the children in the mornings because the palm trees gave perfect shade also in the water :)

Both kids loved watching the fish etc. Kids club was a success too. Max started saying he wanted to go to kids club every day after lunch...

First of all, thank you for all of your help in booking the trip - it's one of the best holidays we've had, of it's type and for what we paid, with the extras which were included, represented good value for money.

Casa de la Flora

•The airport pick-up and drop-off were exceptionally smooth and efficient with cold drinks and towels - a great start
•Overall, we found the resort quite stunning and the build quality very high. As you know, we had been concerned that it might be a little squashed/compact, but in fact the layout was perfect and the landscaping very attractive. The rooms felt very luxurious and comfortable.
•We particularly liked the studio pool villa for its complete privacy and the light/brightness of two walls being glass (we got the one we asked for and were very pleased we looked at the resort map). The beach front rooms had fabulous views, but were considerably less private. The amenities and the level of cleanliness were very good
•The staff were, on the whole, very good, some exceptional
•We thought the breakfast offering in the restaurant was excellent - both European and Asian-style - consistently the best food on offer during our stay. We only ate Thai food in the evening, which was well presented, with good quality ingredients, but a little inconsistent.
•Having the fridge in our room restocked with drinks every day was lovely and we really appreciated the plentiful supply of drinking water and fresh fruit.
•The spa treatment we had was very good and the spa area very pleasant.
•Location - very handy for walking into town - lots of restaurants and a local market. Direct access to a quite narrow part of the sandy beach, which stretched for miles - great for walking.
•Staff to guest ratio very high - especially as occupancy was not high when we were there.
•As we knew, the resort does accept children, but the designer pool does look a little less chic when occupied by small people wearing water wings!

Nowhere is perfect, but for us, the positives of the resort far outweighed any small negatives and it was obvious by the speed at which any minor problems were put right, that Casa de la Flora really does care about its guests - a point admirably demonstrated when I hurt my leg; the thoughtfulness and kindness shown to me was exemplary. Also, Nick was presented with a cake for his birthday and all of the staff had been briefed to wish him a happy day.

It's one of the most luxurious-feeling, relaxing holidays we've had and we'd have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the resort.
