Discover the best of Vietnam from North to South

Days 1 - 3  Hanoi

On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel before beginning your exploration of Hanoi with a walking tour of the Old Quarter. You will also explore Hanoi’s historical side with visits to the Temple of Literature, to Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum and museum. For those with a true love of history, it is possible to organise a meeting with a renowned Hanoi historian, who will guide you through his home town.

Days 3 - 4  Halong Bay

Today head to Halong Bay. Board your overnight boat and set sail into this breathtaking bay, filled with thousands of limestone islets and caves. Choose from a traditional junk boat with their evocative red sails or perhaps a more refined colonial style paddle steamer. Swim off the side of the boat and feast on delicious seafood as you sail through the bay. Moor for the evening under the stars before waking up the following morning to see the sun rise over the spectacular horizon. Return to Hanoi this afternoon.

Day 5  Hue

Take a short flight down to the imperial capital at Hue and spend the afternoon exploring this historical city. Begin with the Imperial Citadel and the Thien Mu pagoda, before taking a boat ride on the Perfume River. Continue your exploration of the area with a visit to some of the imperial tombs.

Days 6 - 8  Hoi An

Leaving Hue this afternoon, drive over the spectacular Hai Van pass. The journey will pass by rice paddies, steep mountain passes, shrimp farms and untouched sandy bays. Arriving in Hoi  An, a short walking tour will reveal the best of the old town. Otherwise, simply wander, get lost and enjoy exploring this maze of atmospheric streets. Don’t forget to sample some of Hoi An’s signature dishes or one of the many excellent quality tailors which proliferate in this quaint town.

Days 9 - 10  Saigon

Take an early morning flight down to Ho Chi Minh City, still referred to by her colonial era name of Saigon. En route from the airport, visit the Cu Chi tunnels, an important part of Saigon’s war history. Spend the afternoon exploring Dong Khoi and the nearby boutiques, cafés and restaurants. Explore Saigon’s sights including the War Remnants Museum, bustling Chinatown, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Reunification Palace.

Day 11  Mekong Delta

Head three hours South of Saigon by car, to the riverside town of Can Tho. En route, you will stop to explore the picturesque Mekong Delta region of Vietnam on foot and by sampan. Visit a tropical fruit orchard and some of the local cottage industries before continuing onto Can Tho. Arise early the following morning and board a traditional wooden boat at dawn to see the floating market at Cai Rang. Return to Saigon by road after lunch.

Days 12 - 14  Beach Relaxation

End your exploration of Vietnam with a relaxing stay on one of her many beautiful beaches. From Saigon, the most convenient beach is Mui Ne, around four hours’ drive and home to the beautiful Princess d’Annam resort.
