Prices

Prices per person for 7 nights in a Rehendi Room range from £2630 in low season (£375 per person per night) to £4335 in high season (£619 per person per night) including the return seaplane transfer. A minimum 10 night stay applies over Easter – and a minimum 14 night stay applies over New Year.

British Airways offer direct non-stop flights to The Maldives 3 times a week. Fares start from £450 plus £325 airport taxes. Special companion fares exist at certain times of the year so please ask your consultant for more details. Alternatively Emirates offer the option of a stopover in Dubai on the way out or on the way back.

Set on the private, 100 acre uninhabited island of Kunfunadhoo within the North Baa Atoll (one of the furthest atolls from the capital Malé), Soneva Fushi by Six Senses epitomises ‘barefoot perfection’ – it looks like a Robinson Crusoe idyll with crystal clear waters, coral reefs and soft powder-like sand. Fushi’s remoteness is central to its charm – a legendary resort which captures the very essence of a castaway fantasy.

A thrilling 25-minute seaplane flight north of Malé, ‘Fushi’s’ relaxed ambience is evident from the moment you land – all guests are greeted with a bag for their shoes – even the managers go barefoot! Characterised by a jungle-clad interior and encircled by white sandy beaches, there’s no denying that Fushi’s 65 villas are scattered around one of the most pristine islands in the Maldives.

Rough wood, bamboo, natural fabrics, thatched roofs and coir roping have all been utilised to create the stylish, minimalist interior design which draws its inspiration from nature – messages are delivered in chic bamboo tubes while bamboo ladders act as towel rails. Modern creature comforts have not been forgotten – just discreetly hidden. Hairdryers are neatly stowed in coconut wooden desks whilst the mini-bar, safe and sound system are concealed behind rattan – and if you
so wish, a TV or DVD player can be delivered to your room in a water hyacinth basket!

All rooms, suites and white-washed villas are secretly tucked away amidst the wild vegetation. The bathrooms open out onto private Edens and all villas enjoy wonderful outdoor seating areas with direct access to a private stretch of beach. The Soneva Fushi Villa Suite & Tree House is perfect for a family – it boasts treehouse bunk beds and its own pool with a waterslide, whilst the Soneva Fushi Jungle Reserve suits those who simply cannot live without their own massage pavilion, steam room and air-conditioned gym. Fushi’s accommodation options vary greatly – some villas and suites have private pools – so we recommend pairing your individual ‘needs’ and ‘wants’ with a specific room type.

Cycle through the trees, take an hour-long stroll around the island, snorkel on the nearby coral reef or sail to deserted islets with a picnic basket. After the day’s toil, revive your weary muscles in the Six Senses Spa or simply revel in Fushi’s splendour.

The gastronomic experience is sublime – fresh fish is in abundance and the resort grows much of its own organic produce. Dining is a ‘varied affair’ – from the à la carte menu of ‘Ever Soneva So Down To Earth’ and the organic garden cuisine of ‘Fresh in the Garden Restaurant’, to an array of sandbank barbecues, desert island picnics and candlelit dinners on the beach.
